“We are against the atomic bomb,” he said. “We believe bombs are used only to kill people. And we are against killing people.”
That is a quote by president mahmoud ahmadinejad today during his speech to the UN general assembly. Isnt it weird that he says that, but not but 2 weeks ago he expressed his main goal of wiping israel off the map and ending the zionist occupation of the middle east. what an asshole, we should just nuke them now and stop worrying about it.

Yes, how dare he want to kill people, then change his mind about it!
It often seems the Iranian leader is trying to intice someone, ANYONE into attacking his nation....possibly a martyr complex.....

No, a nuke would cause too much fallout. Just use precision strikes to target infastructure and leave it a pile of rubble.

A-Muddy-Dinner-Jacket and the entire Iranian moolah-cracy need to be terminated with extreme prejudice, one way or another. Preferably in a way that is very painful ;)
No need to waste the entire country, though. Better to instigate and support a revolution. That way the Iranian people can do the dirty work themselves, and, since it'll be a revolution, there'll be no nonsense about the "rights" of the former regime. The only "rights" they'll get are the right to line up against a wall and the right to eat hot lead. :D

I seem to remember we already did that, which is why Iran is in the position it is now in the first place.

Are we sure that the Iranians want a regime change? I haven't seen much evidence to show that they do.
How would we instigate a regime change?

I'm convinced that as long as no one attacks Iran, we can let them bitch and moan and talk big all they like. Only once they act offensively should any action be taken.
This is because an attack on a nation is likely to help unify its people against an enemy, and Iran's people don't seem to be as extreme as their president. He's a misrepresentation of the general population. Unfortunately, if some event unites Iran, then they'res going to be a problem.

its really hard to tell, most iranians are shia, so they support ahmadinejad, but i just read an article yesterday that said the poor iranians are not supporting him as much. so i really dont know. and it would probably be like the bay of pigs invasion of cuba.......(if its like that i think we'd be better off just putting a sniper bullet through his chest and calling it a day)

thats actually the side im leaning towards, and im a pretty hard line neo-con. but as far as i know they did sign the non-proliferation treaty, so if they do a nuclear test that could be seen as an act of war.

How so? The non-proliferation agreement specifically states that nations can pursue their own nuclear programs does it not?

I don't think so, martydom can really really backfire on you. A regime change would be a good thing to do if we can manage it. But I think we should have a popular coup, not a puppet gov't or an instigated coup d'etat. Just setting up another Shah is only putting a band aid on the problem.

true, and the problem with a regime change is that we cant handle it, the US is way to bogged down in Iraq to even handle a regime change. The situation in Iran would be just like the one in Iraq right now, you'd have civil war between those who want an islamic republic and those who want a new democracy. as much as i want the ahmadinejad out of the picure i guess that the only way to deal with him is to just let him stay there until he does something that makes everyone else hate him. at least at the rate he's going it shouldnt be too long.

If I remember rightly from a Time article I read a few weeks ago, Iran has a huge nationalist streak. What the Iranians want most of all is a strong, independant Iran. What is Ahmadinejad pushing for? A strong, nuclear powered Iran. I think making him unpopular would be a very hard task. All we can do really is keep the bastards from getting the bomb and let the little nazi dance around. I'm not too worried, Israel will bomb them back to the bronze age before they get anything really diabolical.

lol self-censorship.
when did Iran state it wanted nuclear weapons?
or was it the western governments who claim long term they might try and build them?
when did the Iranian President state he would attack Isreal?
or was it the western press who mistranslated a pharsee phrase?
the OP is bullshit because it is based on CIA interpretations of Iranian intentions. Not stated Iranian policy. Most of the what followed is borderline racism.

What a jolly idea! Let's massacre millions of innocent people because one of them has said he's against mass murder.
Don't you sense a slight contradiction in your statement?

It's more like he doesn't think he is going to get invaded. Who would invade him?
And he's dancing close to the fire, but on the safe edge on the line.
