An NSG WoW Guild?

I'm seriously thinking about getting World of Warcraft. I have found that too many games I got recently fizzle out quickly and I get bored with them.

My brother's had WoW for many months now, and he's still playing it. A lot. So I'm figuring it might have the sort of long-term motivation that I'm looking for (especially since I was such a fan of the Diablo concept back in the day...oh, how much fun I had with Diablo II).

Recently (before my unfortunate getting cut off from the internet for a few days) there was a thread on here about WoW, and it seemed like a fair few people liked the game and/or played it still.

And since with these games the most important thing is the other people who play with you...would we be able to get enough people together to start some sort of WoW Guild full of NSG people? I suppose we'd have to all be on the same server and stuff, but those details are probably best sorted out by someone who knows more about the game than me.

So I'm starting a public poll. I'm figuring that would be the easiest way to check.

Don't buy WoW, it's a waste of money.

I mean, this has all been discussed in the other thread, but I think it might just appeal to me. It seems a lot like Diablo...level up and hunt for better equipment.

I have no problems with the style or the graphics, and I'm pretty confident I can meet other decent people there. Even better of course if some are from NSG.

To me, that feels like it addresses all major issues with the game people have. And besides, I have a job right now that pays me enough money to spend on silly entertainment software.

I'll have to agree with you here, dude. I got bored with it in the first thirty minutes of playtime. See, a good game will hold my interest during that period of time (a period I find very crucial in game design). World of Warcraft did no such thing.

See, it's basically the same thing as most MMORPGs. You start off with a lot of ho-hum "quests", mostly just delivering packages (yes, it's true). And, what are the beginner monsters that you hunt to gain experience? Rats! Humanoid rats, sure, but rats all the same. And the exp you get from killing them is paltry at best, as is the loot.

I say don't waste your money if you want a truly different gaming experience. WoW isn't bad. It's just that it's the same damn thing all over again. Get Neverwinter Nights Diamond; it's so much more for so much less.

But it gets more interesting as you grow stronger it seems, at least judging from my brother.
And besides, what sort of loot would you expect as a tiny lvl 2 character?

Explain. I have NWN, Undrentide and Underdark. I played them through twice. But once you know the story, I think a lot of the appeal falls away.

World of Warcraft makes me want to punch a pregnant woman in the stomach.
Yeah, but everything does that to you these days.
