Fast Food

Is it me or are the smaller Fast Food shops generally cleaner and better?

The big brands, like MacDonalds and KFC have several disgusting, disturbing stories behind them they'd rather not have, but the local chippy in my town hasn't got a black mark on it so far as my research can tell.

The Chinese's, Indian's, Chippy's, and all other fast food shops the brand of which I doubt you'd recognise that reside in my town are generally clean and have good food.

There are, I know, at least two nasty stories against MaccyD's, probably more, and I know personally from a friend of a teacher of one scratch on KFC's history.

Anyone else agree?

Yeah, big fast food places suck. If you go into a small takeaway place or a burger you can see how clean it is and wha they're doing to your food.

Yes, I do. There's a great little place nearby. I love to eat there. Always clean. Respectable, polite employees. Great food.

Well I'm a pest controller. You soon get to learn that they're all shit in some way (some MAJORLY worse than others). Some of the small fish&chip shops are the cleanest I've seen whereas a couple of the higher class fancy restaraunts in London are shocking when you see what's behind the scenes so-to-speak.

I knew it. Those places are corrupt by idiotic staff and money grabbing owners. Of course, they all wanna make money but they don't pull stupid pranks to save of food making.

I think, is it Muslims who can't eat beef?

Either way, this religious person in which ever religion forbids the consumption of beef as the cow is sacred, used to eat chicken nuggets from MacDonald's every week.

Took his life when he found out they are cooked in beef fat. I'm sure they'd rather he hadn't found that out.

A man once bit into McD's chicken burger, and had a mustard resembling solution across his face. The chicken had an absess, it was puss.

Anyone else agree?generally, that means it isn't true. "friend of a friend" is almost always an urban legend.

I find that McDonalds is just as clean as any other place...if not more so. They have a huge image problem, and need to prove themselves.

Basically. KFC is abysmal.

The rule is by no means unilateral, however individual establishments tend to be more diligent in any form of business.

Some of them. The problem with the big chains is that the more outlets you have the more of a chance you have of someone fucking up.NOt that I like most of the major chains food.On a side note::If anyone on this fourm is ever in Dublin. try out Leo Burdocks or Besshoff's.Two great examples of how fast food does not have to taste terrible.

I agree! Although it's mostly corporate here in the US.

I never eat fast food and I went into one of the big chains (Wendy's) so my friend could get some gross thing and I forgot how disgustingly smelly they were and all those plastic seats were so greasy. I didn't know how my friends could sit on those chairs and eat that food. It seemed so dirty there.

Smaller stores where there are only one or a couple are easier for the single owner or few owners to be aware of or on top of them. With more McDonalds there is a greater chance that one of them is going to be nasty and it's harder overall for McDonalds to oversee the standards.

Plus a McDonalds will have people go to it because it's a McDonalds and doesn't have to work as hard. Have you ever really gone, "Oh, that's a good McDonalds," I mean, really? But a small store only has its local reputation and has to build its word of mouth and as such will take greater pride in its upkeep and quality. Additionally the money you spend there stays in the community. All around it's just the better option. Because, come on, McDs burgers are nasty anyway. They taste like salt patties.

You could say all the stories are untrue then.

Not a friend, my RE teacher told us. I trust 'im, he's the best, most reliable teacher in the entire school.

Someone once had a value bucket or whatever from KFC, tugged open the second bit of meat, which was an odd shape. It was a rat head. Some dead rat had been gutted and deep fried. Not an accident, was a grey thing, wild obviously, and all prepared so they knew it was a rat.

Amen to that. Keep the money in the community and out of the hands of corporations that loot the community!

Local places are ALWAYS dirtier than chain restaraunts.
Small, local places dont have upper management to tour thier stores, and make sure regulations are being kept.

Most chains have standards they uphold to ensure a certain level of cleanliness.
Not to mention Health Inspectors.

Local, privately owned businesses have only the Health inspector to deal with.

Having worked in such places in the past, I can assure you, most often, the McDonalds, or whatever, follow such guidelines much closer.

I'm an appaling cricketer, and more of a Rugby player now. I used to be a county level athlete, but the allure of after match pints and the like was compelling.

Damn, I wish we had kebab places on this side of the pond. When I was stationed in Germany I ate them all the time, but it's been about 4 years since I've had one :(

edit: Also, it's Hindus that don't eat beef.

KFC is so depressing.

Last time I went to one, the person that served us was this really nice old lady.

I couldn't help but think of how it must suck to work for $5.15 an hour after atleast 65 years rasing kids and whatever..
