Do people in your country start riots every time somebody sets a national flag on fire?

Indeed not. Flagburning is fun for all the family.

I don't think people riot over flag-burning in America... do they?
I do remember a lot of whining from the right about flag-burning here in Australia some time back, though. I'm not sure what happened to the law against flag burning that was in the works.

All probabilities point to yes if I can put my hands on a flame retardant suit.

no though that might be because no one owns the Union Jack and because setting fires is kind of illegal in the street perhaps we should do an interpretive dance to show the flag on fire :D

And where are these friends of yours :p

i live in a majority republican state and i can say i have never seen a riot over someone setting a flag on fire. i have known people to get upset about it, bu i have never seen a riot start from it.

your location said california, so that probably explains it. they have something different in the water over there that makes people go crazy.

You'd get more if a reaction if you were to burn an England footy shirt than the St. Georges cross.

That's because football is actually important.

I might I add woe betides those scurvy dogs that desecrate ol' jolly rogers. They'll be feedin' the fishes smarter than they can say "walk the plank".

I don't even remember any flag being burned here as protest. But even if it happened I doubt anyone would actually care.
Some would probably say "Oh, thats so wrong", then they would turn around and finish their beer.
