The Mediocrity Party

Anti-Social Darwinism

The so-so party for so-so people. The core thesis of this party is that everything tends to the mediocre. "Water seeks it's own level", "democracy is the dictatorship of the masses", "everything seeks the lowest common denominator", i.e., it's the party of slogans and trite sayings. We're the party that just gets by. We're average. We have rights, but not too many, and are willing to give them up if it makes our lives easier (thinking is so tiring). We have responsibilities, which we shirk whenever possible. If anyone shows any sign of talent, intelligence or other virtue, we squash it as soon as possible or kick them out of the party.

We believe:

1. He who shouts loudest is right, opinions don't need facts to back them up.
2. Talented, intelligent people (unless they're sports figures or actors) only cause trouble and should be discouraged from expessing themselves.
3. It's always someone else's fault.
4. Religious or political ideology can, and should, replace critical thinking.
5. Education is useless unless it can help you make a good living.

I doubt that anyone would want to belong to this party, I don't myself, so why is it that so many people act like they do?

if you want to be an actual party you have to have 10lines worth of stuff. I like the idea though

1. He who shouts loudest is right, opinions don't need facts to back them up.
This seems out of synch with the rest of the party's views. Shouldn't the "rightness" of someone be irrelevant within a party where the goal is to be neither right nor wrong, but just sort of there?
