Ok, so I have two very good friends, who are also very close to one another. However, one of them has shut herself off to the world because of some problems, and the other one is going crazy about it because she wants to help her friend, she want to be able to comfort her and talk to her, but it ain't happening. So now they both shut themselves off from the world, and it's just nuts. I don't know what to do, I'm trying to do something, but it's like trying to get a stubborn mule going, it aint going to happen. For the full detail go to my blog, but anyways, I was wondering if yall have any suggestion on what I can do. It just seems like I'm the netural party at this point and a possible line of communication between the two.

Ignore them both until they come out on their own.

They'll get hungry at some point.

Well it's not so much as a physical withdraw, as a mental withdraw. One refuse to talk to her, and the other refuse to talk to anyone.

That sounds like a medical condition called 'teenage'.

The good news is that it passes naturally with time.

Lock'em up in a room together and wait.

Come up with some original and witty scheme to get them together. Like tell one of them to come to a certain place at a certain time for a certain reason and tell the other something different so that they 'bump into each other'.

...this sounds seriously like the script from an episode of 'Three's Company', right here.

And then "accidentally" lock them into a room until they make up. :p :p :p

They may end up....hmmm.....can I drill a hole in the wall?

FYI they're finally talking to one another. So everyone's happy and balance is restored.

I realize this is a closed issue, but ...

Some of us are quite content with non-communicative states. When/why did it become a problem for you to solve?

Perhaps if you're content with it it's not a problem, but he did say it was because of 'problems'. This is a little bit different to 'non-communicative', and can't really be just ignored.

Those two sound a bit, shall we say, childish.

give them alcohol, it might help their problems which may lead them to "thank you" ;)
