I couldn't find enough serial killings in the UK for make options, and there are too many random unsolved single murders too, so I'll just post the link straight out. Questions about them...

1) Which is most interesting to you?
2) Does anybody remember news coverage of the more recent ones?
3) Is there one that you've studied or otherwise have more information about (from a book, TV special, somebody who knows somebody, etc)?

I for one have never heard of the "Jack the Stripper" murders...very weird!

1972 Judith Roberts Tamworth, Staffordshire A 14-year-old girl was battered to death not far from her family home in Tamworth. A young soldier stationed at Whittington Barracks confessed to the murder and served 25 years in jail. However, he later claimed that his confession was a result of psychological problems he was experiencing at the time; there being no other evidence against him, his conviction was overturned by the Court of Appeal. The real killer remains unknown.

Wow, this is where I live.

1978 Carl Bridgewater Yew Tree Farm, Prestwood, Staffordshire The Bridgewater Four were originally convicted in 1979, but they were acquitted in 1997. A possible suspect is Hubert Spencer, who was convicted of a shooting murder at a nearby farm a month later.

Jack the Ripper. The classic case. Creepy too...

I notice that there's been some torso-findings through time! Oh, these kind of things freaks me out!

Nickell, an ex-model, was stabbed 42 times while walking on Wimbledon Common with her young son. A local man was brought to trial for the murder, but the case was quickly thrown out of court. In 2006 Scotland Yard began questioning a convicted killer in Broadmoor Secure Mental Hospital whom they believe may be the true murderer.

I wonder where OJ was at this time?

I would think it would be difficult in an area where there are a lot of CCTV cameras. The police would be looking through the video of the last part of the victim's day, and would probably be able to identify nearly everyone who came in contact with the victim prior to their death.

It was damn near everywhere in London.

I felt like I was in a movie. So I made a point of always smiling at the camera, and making obscene hand gestures.

That list doesn't include the some 1,500 unsolved murders in Northern Ireland since about 1970.
