North Korea is more or less like the world in 1984 (the book, not the year). If you define a country by the government, it would probably be the worst, for that reason. But, there are other countries worse off for reasons that do not have everything to do with the government.

I don't think you can really pick one country. North Korea is certainly a good choice but Sudan is no fun place to be either. Then you have a list of African and Central American countries that you wouldn't want to live in.

I got one (if its considered a country) the Gaza Strip. Between being divided between two military parties (Fatah and Hamas) and its residents being really poor, I would say thats pretty bad. If thats not a country, I would go with Sierra Leone cause the country is divided between the Tigers and the goverment and the Tigers are pretty orginized...they have suicide bombers and even a small navy

The NK govt. and Kim Jong-Il are concerned with self preservation and keeping their lavish lifestyles. They're too worry about themselves to enforce crazy laws.

There are many places I wouldn't want to live, but top of the list would possibly be Sierra Leone.

Whereas north korea has torture prisons and slave gulags for life. And uses them liberally not just with offenders, but with their extended families. No nation in the world is more unjust than NK.
