Uh-oh, I hate when some of US Latin ticks jump on to say something that moronic, he just fits all the stereotypes we have....
Jolt is a British company, and this section is being used by a Australian book publisher... How you make the excuse that we invented the internet and you guys just flushed yourselves down the toilet is lame.
Americans are just to many people in general, we have more Muslims than Iraq and Afganistan combined, same goes for just about any religion except some more Asian ones.
Anyhow, after laughing at them for a bit I got to say Mexico is a pretty good place, or that just could be I was a Yanqui tourist with to much money which most of those feal marketers can smell from a mile off. Capitalism at its best.
Anyhow, I think America is a great nation, I understand where a lot of the anti-American feelings come from, honestly, I would hate France if it helped win WWI, won WWII along with USSR and Britian, single-handly won the Cold War, got some guys to the moon first, invented the internet first, made the biggest canal ever, has the biggest finacial centers anywhere, has the biggest GDP, GNP, and buys and sells the most things, has its currency used the most, has its currency used the most by OPEC, invented the computer, invented Windows, invented the vacum tube on up, made and denonated the first nuclear bomb, has the best and biggest military, has the best funded navy ever, makes 10% of the worlds money, has the biggest companies ever by founding Microsoft, Apple, IBM, GMC, Boeing, Lockheed, Caterpillar, H-P, Google, and countless others, what would be even worse would be if all of France's companies were better than ours! Like if I had an electronics company that sold stuff cheaper to France then to the US (Japan-US Relations, yeah, there that funked up), or even worse my major airplane manufacter couldn't make as good stuff as theirs! Ah, the idea! Then comes the fate of having my comapanies care more about France because we can't keep up to their ever-spending consumers! Who buy more Mercedes-Benzs than almost all of America (i.e Europe) combined!
Yeah.... Wouldn't that be a scary world? :)

That's another reason I would hate France in my hypothetical world, if everytime I said I lived in America and people would say "huh" but then I would finish with "I am moving to France" everyone, no matter if they disapproved, would know exactly where I was talking about.
That would suck, a lot.
You just keep on telling yourself that, kiddo. Blinding yourself to the truth makes everything so much easier, don't it? Fantasies have that effect, making you feel nice and good inside. Course if you actually started thinking, you might have to face reality, and that would just be scary...

It would, I can barely accept my slice of reality at the moment, then thinking that France was the founding nation of GMC and I am really scared shitless.
Regardless, most of what I said was honestly true, of course you can always look in the light that America is a warmonger whose automobile manufacters are so bad at making cars their only markets are in China, and are so pathetically belly up while every single country that has a automobile maker is having a hayday, letting the American consumer buyup every last bit while putting it all on their house loan or credit card. Not actual money persay.
Then comes job exporting, the corporations (like Dell) are giving technical assistance jobs to East Indians who are a time zone day away from people who can actually make decisions. It sucks, trust me, trying to talk to a accented East Indian who just keeps saying sorry and he'll try to do it but can make no promises.
Then come the uniouns, while most Europeans would consider me to rant against the government now since our uniouns get so "little" rights I on the other hand think the uniouns themselves have gotten even bigger than the corporations they "defend" against.
They don't "defend" the workers, they chop the corporation and politicians up and then hang them out to dry. Generous (General) Motors actually owes its retired workers more money than it is currently worth, how screwed up is that?
Anyhow, I don't want to move, I like having a job and being fired and hired on my own merits. Especially if I want to become get a small buisness in engineering, being un-able to fire a slack off who worked for a little bit just to get fully attached knowing I couldn't fire him later on would really piss me off. What would be worst would be when I support a politican to let me fire him (or make him work harder for a bit longer and then slack off) and then he gets angry and tries to burn my car and buisness and teams up with all his buddies and takes law into their own hands.
Now that leaves me really scared shitless.

Americans are just to many people in general, we have more Muslims than Iraq and Afganistan combined, same goes for just about any religion except some more Asian ones.

Funny. You bitch about people being pointlessly anti-American (subtle it may be), yet you do the same thing to France for some reason. Mature.
yes. especially with the pro-USA bias.
It could have been done better. It is missing plenty of the world from an option forcing many "other" votes. Eastern Europe, most of Asia, Africa and South America. Simply lousy.

Actually it is just because France is the easiest to make fun of. What can you say about Britain? Haha, you only managed to cover 1/4th of the world, the Romans could do that!
Or Germany. Nener, every 20-30 years or so you usually single-handly dominated Europe and managed to kick the world's colective asses quite a few times!
Honestly, France is the biggest, and easiest target. The Low Countries have Interpol, managed to stick it out through WWI (or at least the Belgium did, I don't know what Netherlands was doing at the time, neutral, taken over, or what), anything of real cool importance is based in Hague. So nothing to make fun of there, unless Pluto being degraded to a Dwarf Planet, but that doesn't really count.
Who else is there? Everybody else is just.... There, even though there is tons of history on each nation no single one has such a career as France has had in losing. Like Bonaparte sucked out all the military geinus into one person and left just.... It.
Spain had its Moors, its fascist. Austria had its time in the sun, turned into Austria-Hungary, became German Austria, Austria, then Nazi Austria. Nothing extremely bad to say there (and because I like to storyboard Austria-Hungary and Austria could bring some bias).
What else? France is just the saddest of the bunch, even Sweden could get some credit for being the Socialist country that worked, Norway gets credit for making the first hard-water, and Finland is well... Finland, did some good work against the Red Arm in WWII(still lost, but didn't lose like France does), ganged up with Nazi Germany to get back some of its lost territory, and pretty much stopped at pre-war boundries. Good stuff there.
Now there may be some wide gaps but I honestly can't give the detail I want to all the countries of Europe, especially if you include Turkey and some former USSR Republics.
On subject; so in conclusion France is sadly the automatic power which any biased American scholar knows. A collection of bad luck, to good fighting Germans in their Messerschmidts, and overall "weird" economic stance. Then there is "Food For Oil", but I think I have summed up why France is always the butt of a lot of jokes.

I would hate France if it helped win WWI, won WWII along with USSR and Britian, single-handly won the Cold War, got some guys to the moon first ...While you actually forget that really WWI was won by Europe, Nazi were broken by USSR and somewhat held by Britain while US jumped in in the end of the war, Cold War was won by combining the efforts of most of the World, the first satellite and the first astronaut were from USSR, and so on. You can find a lot of great things in history of every nation if you can do some cherry-picking work.
The actual reason for nations to be liked or hated is not their power, but how their governments use it.

Canada
United States
Latin America
Pacific Island Nations*
East Asia (Korea, Japan, Vietnam)
Asia
Middle East
Africa*
Balkans*
Eastern Europe
Russia and Republics
Western Europe
Scandinavia
*Are mostly the ones you need to cut but if you want to substitute another to be cut, that's cool.

Actually there are many merits to a debate on the effects of American troops on the declining moral of both German, BEF, Belgium and French soldiers. Yet I must even admit the burden fell on mostly their soldiers. As for WWII it would be doubtful at best if the USSR could've even armed its peasants without the lend-lease program and Britian would have been sorely pressed in Egypt and The British Isles in time without good equipment from the US. The Arsenal of Democracy indeed.
As for Cold War it would be childish to say that the US was in any way not the sole director of the United Nations and capitalist countries. If it wasn't conducting the inependence of South Korea and South Veitnam is was keeping West Berlin fed and countries like Greece independent (if under a dictator, can't have it all).
As for being mature I never said I would, I am a cold, sadistic, biased, educated, pessismistic, and American. I never even try and make you belive that I am mature in anyway, you just cannot consider the idea that not everyone is obssesed of what others think of mauturity to actually write a decent counter example, in no way did you disprove anything.
Depressing to say the least, and I would like some of the more European leaning members to introduce themselves to my slightly over bearing debate I have going. Being called mture is only fun for so long.

Piss-all?
Yet I must even admit the burden fell on mostly their soldiers.
Almost entirely.
As for WWII it would be doubtful at best if the USSR could've even armed its peasants without the lend-lease program
The USSR recieved a very, very small amount of weapons, percentage-wise, via lend-lease. Its peasants were given Mosin-Nagants, PPDs and AVS (in very limited supplies) rifles in the M35-pattern regiments.
In the M41-pattern regiments, they had Mosins, SVT-38s/40s, PPSH-41s (although still some PPDs) and some lend-lease stuff (in extremely limited numbers).
By the time of the M43- and M44- regiments, it was all Russian-made stuff, Mosins, SVT-40s, PPSH-41/43s and that did the trick fine.
The US did give them some Bazookas eventually, but the Russians had so many tanks (and good ones - T34/85s and IS-1s) that it didn't really matter by that point in the war.
and Britian would have been sorely pressed in Egypt
Oh no...
and The British Isles in time without good equipment from the US.
Lend-lease didn't help to win the Battle of Britain, and that was the only time when the British Isles were actually under threat.
The Arsenal of Democracy indeed.
Not really...
As for Cold War it would be childish to say that the US was in any way not the sole director of the United Nations and capitalist countries.
They pissed them about, for sure.
If it wasn't conducting the inependence of South Korea
Yippedy-dee.
and South Veitnam
Nice one there... propped up one of the regimes crappest to its own people - ever!
keeping West Berlin fed
That fell on the French and British also...
and countries like Greece independent (if under a dictator, can't have it all).
Oh great... woohoo... a dictatorship vs. a communist state... nice one.
On the other hand, it was also propping up Pol Pot, Pinochet, the Contras in South America, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin (for a bit), the Brazilian military rule, the Taliban, Osama bin Laden and the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
Nice way to misuse your power there, the US!
