Have you ever said it? And if you did, in what context.

I seem to remember calling one of my siblings that once many, many years ago (we're not black). I also seem to recall not being able to sit down for several hours after my old man explained to me why I shouldn't use that word.

Probably, although it would have been in the very boring context of some form of debate on society and Political Correctness (ie '****** is no longer an acceptable term').

3 contexts:
1) Discussing the word itself or colloquial phrases which include it
2) Quoting someone
3) Telling a joke

I can't think of any time in my life that I have actually used the word in a derogatory manner or called someone that.
Neo Undelia

I’ve used it in jokes before. Not often, though not because of any aversion to the word itself, but because there just isn’t much call to use it.
The word can be quite nasty in certain contexts, but I see no reason to actively avoid its use when I use tons of other vulgar words often.

If you mean in a hateful manner, then, no.

If you mean just having some fun with friends (of any color) then yes. We've gotten past the racial steriotyping and political correctness. I told my Indian friend (as in India) to go back to Mexico, and we both laughed.
I was playing foosball with a Mexican friend and he won, and I said it was because the Mexicans are always playing soccer/football, and he agree after laughing.

As long as you're comfortable with the people you joke with, none of that political bullshit matters.

My friends and I joke around a lot too with all the silly racial stereotypes. One of the guys who will be a groomsman in my wedding is Muslim and of Arabic descent. As a joke, he asked if he could wear his "traditional dress." When asked what that entailed, he said, "Oh, you know, robe, turban, dynomite..." He actually makes jokes like that pretty often. =)

Liar. Liar. Ass hair on fire.

I'd randomly spit it out after randomly ranting to a friend.

Like today in first period, "One fucking day I'd like to fucking show up and have a god fucking damn chair waiting for me at my fucking spot... [5 second pause] ..******."

There was one time where I did want to use it to offend a black guy, but I feel it's not fun having a guy jump off a second floor balcony and chase me.

I don't like to run.

Not anymore, but as a young kid I said it many times, just cause everyone said it in normal conversation to anyone. I stopped when I was around seven or eight, I think. I've never said it in anger, although I have been called both a "cracker" and a "jap" in anger a few times.

More often than not, I say "nigga" as in "Nigga what?, Nigga please!"

I've used it with the "er" only in telling jokes, which usually are told to me by black people to begin with.

The only other context would have been when I was living with my boyfriend's family. His stepfather is extremely racist and would lay in bed watching game shows or the news. Whenever he saw something that displeased him he would yell out, "******!" It got to the point where I was hearing it every five seconds and I asked him to stop. The last thing I needed was for my son to think that it's an ok thing to say when he visits my mom who has a black roomate and dates black people. I could see that going very badly.
