Is english your 1st language, and if it is how old are you?
Why does it matter if English is someone's first language? Are you trying to attack their grammar? I would say your writing ability is sufficiently lacking that you have no ground to stand on or from which to attack the writing abilities of others.

None of the above. Besides that, which country should i need to die for? My Passport says "United States of America" and i've lived most of my life in Scotland and the Netherlands.
My religion doesn't require me to give my life for the advancement of it, as a matter of fact, it's frowned upon.
IMHO, it only makes sense to give your life to retain your independence, liberty or out of self-defense.

I would die for both, but if I had to choose between the two, I would die for God.
My list of priorities:
God and general Christianity
Protestantism
Evangelicalism
Calvinism
Presbyterianism
My family
My friends
My country
So, as you can see, a lot of things come before however much nationalism I have, if I really have any at all.

Actually I wish there was a third option. To die to help or save others. Because that is why people die for country, because they want to help or save their countrymen and future geneations. Since I happen to be Christian, it's a tennant of faith that laying down ones life for another is not only divine, it's what God himself did as an example. But I would hardly call that "dying for God."

The motto for Jesus Freaks Int'l is "Fear God, not man", and defines martyr as:
mar·tyr
(mar' ter)n.
[from the Greek word for "witness"]
1) One who chooses to suffer death rather than deny Jesus Christ or His work.
2) One who bears testimony to the truth of what he has seen or heard or knows, as in a witness in a court of justice.
3) One who sacrifices something very important to further the kingdom of God.
4) One who endures severe or constant suffering for their Christian witness.
5) A Jesus Freak.

I'd probably be ready to die to save the lives of my countrymen, (not because they are my countrymen, but because they are people).
I wouldn't give my life for God, as I can't think He's done anything to deserve it.
And Edwardis, desire to please Jesus would not go threw my head at all. I find the view that all positive behaviour is motivated towards protecting one's soul. I for one believe that people have it within themselves.

Ach... die for one made-up human concept or another... urmm...
I'd probably prefer to die to aid my countrypeople, but not "my country" per se, because I refuse to die on patriotic grounds, whereas if I'm actually helping a real person, rather than a concept, then fair enough, I suppose.
Since I don't believe that God exists, I'm certainly not dying to aid that cause.

Though I don't believe in a God, I would probably be more likely to die for my beliefs than to protect my country, with which I am reasonably frustrated at this point in time.
Saying that, I would perhaps risk my life in order to improve my country, so that it falls in line with aforesaid beliefs.

Assuming that "god" simply means "your chosen deity" (as it would be very peculiar to ask a Buddhist or Muslim to die for the Christian God), I'd chose that.
However, since I have elected myself as my own god, and my interests are in no way served by my own extermination, I don't think the issue will ever broach itself.

Neither. My gods don't need people to die for them, and as for my country -- I pay my taxes, so it can kiss my ass.
I would not choose to die for anything or anyone. But I would choose to risk dying, i.e. put myself in harm's way, for my family, friends -- oh, hell, my cat, too; he's so cute -- if I absolutely had to in order to stop them from being seriously harmed. Oh, yeah, and for my principles, too. I'm a real "give me liberty or give me death" nut.
But isn't this whole question kind of pointless? Can any of us choose not to die, reason notwithstanding? Nobody is getting out of here alive anyway, so I think the concept should be more, "Under what circumstances would you try less to avoid dying at the given moment, and how much less would you try?" Remember, even soldiers duck.
