OMG: The Hoff is coming!
So on Saturday I am going to be metting the Hoff. Hooray! I'm kinda excited as he is a world icon. So this is a thread where you can tell us the celebs you have met. Mine are Ali G and that guy who played Barry in Eastenders. Only a few of you will know who that is.

Various politicians, various Archbishops and the odd television actor.
The cult of the 'celebrity' is so weird. They're just people.

As far as celebrities I've met myself, I can't think of any right now... But as far as actors and movie stars go I just think of them as normal people who get paid too much.

I've met my share, but they all pale in comparison to the day I met Gonzo.

Joey Dunlop once told me to F off when I asked for his autograph. I was about 9, as were the other Cub scouts I was with when we were cruising the paddock one afternoon at the TT :)

Agreed. What really creeps me out are the shows dedicated to what celebrities do in their personal lives. As if it's anyone's business.

I detest the celebrity magazines. It's just gossip about people with no lives and too much money.

YES! EXACTLY! Dear Lord I hate it how the TV schedules are bogged down with such "Celebrity" crap! Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity X factor, Celebrity horse-racing, Celebrity Turd!
And there's those celebrity gossip programmes and magazines! What a waste of a TV schedule and paper, respectively.

So do I. Where do you work? Are you in production or post? I work here:
www.technicolor.com in the Hollywood post house. Mostly I move big media files around the world on a fat fiberoptic network. I also do a lot of digitizing and some other techie junk. I used to work in production when I first graduated college. I was a set PA and then a director's assistant so I met a lot of celebrities and got drunk with more than a few. I left production, though, because the money and job security sucked.

I have nothing against an embarrassingly awful politician humiliating themselves in front of the nation.

No, I can't stand LA so I work in NorCal, mostly on godawful reality shows and the occasional independent film or documentary.
I might couch surf in LA in the next month or so to get some better work for a little bit since around here everything dries up halfway through November.
And I didn't plan on being a grip, it's just that I'm a big guy so that's where they kept putting me. But I have a background in music and recording so I want to work sound or camera (because camera is cool).
I just finished my first year as set crew and am knee deep in that "So, is this really what I want to do?" thing. It is, but not the way I've been doing it.

I'm not good at anything else (well, I was an okay musician but that's just trading a struggle for a struggle...) so I'm stuck.
