But not by Mr. Branson.

One of the ways we've come up with to limit the number of IED (roadside
bombs) attacks is to monitor our most heavily traveled areas using
Predators. They are very quiet and fly high enough so that they can't be
heard or seen. And because they don't have a pilot, they can fly over 24
hours at a time.

In this video, a Predator comes upon 3 insurgents planting an IED. It
then contacts a nearby F-16 who then drops a 500 lb bomb on them.

Maybe we can get Israel some of these so if they fight Hezbollah again, they can actually kill some combatants. :p

Actually, during the Lebanon action, the Israelis used a LOT of UAVs to spot and direct air and artillery attacks.

Hezbollah made constant reference to the buzz of these drones overhead.

It's why I suspect quite a few Hezbollah were killed, even though Hezbollah denies it, and no news agencies reported much from Hezbollah-controlled areas about Hezbollah casualties.

The Israelis were the pioneers in the use of UAVs in combat. Before the US.

Not coincidentally, the United States used the Pioneer UAV during Desert Storm to gather intel and some BDA. We had more than a few missions on the FRAG that were targets identified by Pioneer drones.

Let's see the videos, then. Israel needs to work on it's public relations. *nod*

The IDF put out more than one video. I even posted one here, and it was ignored.

The press seems to not believe video shot from IDF drones. They would rather believe a Hezbollah spokesman who says "this vehicle was hit by a missile". A vehicle with no broken windows and a roof cut open by a hand tool.

If you note, during the war, nearly all Reuters and AP photographers and sources were Arabs. Kind of hard to get them to cover the Jews.

Not one news organization wanted to accept IDF videos (outside of Israeli news agencies).

I think that both Reagan(The Master) and Clinton(The Student) have proven that a rapport with the press is something that takes time to develop and is worth taking that time. Israel doesn't appreciate the media, and the media doesn't appreciate Israel. I think that's obvious from the coverage of that particular conflict. Considering Israel's less tha stellar reputation toward journalists(deserved or not), can understand why.

Buh-bye....

I'm thinking how nice it would be to be able to remotely detonate the very device these scumbags were making to eliminate them, rather than dropping an expensive hellfire on them. It'd be nice to save some dough and use their own material against them.

anyway-that is the type of "roadkill" I like to see.

I am not surprised.. -these days- anyone can call terrorist anyone.

Last week my friend scared the neigbor's dog shitting on his back-yard.. and the Lady (Dog owner) called him "terrorist!!"

Yes, they are.

Right now, insurgents in Iraq kill, usually on purpose, far more civilians than they kill US soldiers.

They are in Iraq. A genuine insurgency to dislodge the US would take care to protect the civilians, not target them.

They don't have Mao's guide to guerilla warfare. They should know that the civilians are the river in which the fish (guerillas) swim. Killing civilians and terrorizing them is a bad way to run an insurgency.

I just don't believe numbers of dead. Too many ways to deflate/inflate counts, too many ways to "classify" combatants - it's military masturbation.

The only things that count are teritory controlled and whether there's significant resistance remaining.

you may not care, but as joe blow watching the news and hears that israelis killed 200 civilians, it kind of puts a bad public image of Israel. BUT what the press doesnt always report is 1. where they got that information from (hezbollah is not a reliable source) 2. how many of those dead civilians could of actually been combatants.

The civilians killed by insurgents matter as much to OD as the thousands purged by sadaam- not at all.
He feels The US is forcing the insurgents to kill civilains.
