Im posting this because I have fell victim to my own laziness and uncontrollable insomnia. I have an f-in 20 pg report (20% done) and 2 ap=physics assignments to finish before school starts tomorrow. There are few things in the world which I dispise as much as all nighters...
Here's the story, and take note what you will;
When I got back from my trip to Turkey I would go to sleep at first very early. Then it happened. I am not a man (lol irony in the usage of 'man', Im damned 16..pshh) to blame things on others but..what the hell.. It was too hot to sleep in my room, so I slept in the living room as sometimes we I am forced too. Well the rest of the family didnt follow the golden sleep schedule I did when I got over my jet-lag. I would hit the sack on 9-10:30 durring summer vacation. (yeah its weird for my ag I suppose, but hey I love the smell of a cool fresh morning, my favorite time of day) and with the tv on it would take a lot longer to fall asleep. Ussually 11-12-1ish Finally it was cool enough but by this time laziness had set in and my bio clock had been readjusted. I would stay up all nigh from 1-3 latest ever was at 6..lol I stopped this a few days before school and ofcourse...the insomnia. It was so bad that this weekend, a long one after orientation, I spent Wed and Thurs night in bed starting at 8 o clock and falling asleep at 3 am and 3:30 am respectively.
This is when I had my flash of genius. I ussually go with the slug-it through method when things get awkward and inefficient. I decided.. ok, I have those big assignments to do... so thi insomnia will take a while to get over, and I cant workout to tire myself to sleep when I wake up late... If I stay up for over a day and go to sleep at normal time..then my bio clock will be forced into the right position. Yeah great in theory... hell in practice. I hated it.. I stayed up all night playing computer games online with friends in other parts of the country and in the morning watched a real good movie. Fugitive was it? or something, actually 3 movies simultaneously but w/e.
I was useless workwise. If I stopped a moment to read my book or do my phsysics assignment, I would start rockin and my eyes would start closing. Anything I did, excersise, coffee (yuk I hate it), tea, hitting myself on my hard head so that the pain would keep me awake (yes...lol) it was just too damned inefficient. I would spend 60-80% of the time working to get awake again, and the rest was a tiny window to do assignments. I though screw it. Ill make a mad dash and do it tomorrow.
So I slept at 9 pm that night. I was right in theory. I awoke at 6:04. perfect if on school time where the bus arrives at 6:41. But not so much now. I was tired and went back to sleep. 8:00 then back to bed. My sis wakes me at 10:00 and I get to work. All day till now, 10:15 pm and nope, nowhere clost to being done.
Why am I not working now you responsible souls may ask? Proportion. It will take so long at a vicious pace that This 10 minutes spent won't make a difference. I'm sure I can finish it all tonight. Albeit my estimates are at 3-6am.
PLEASE..TAKE HEED AND DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE
Once a friend told me a bit of advice....
Procrastination is just like Masterbation....In the end, your just fucking yourself.
