We believe that the only duty of the state is the welfare and liberty of the people in it.
Therefore, we will legislate as little as possible.
1. There will be a constitutional ban on the prosecution of "victimless crimes"
2. Taxes: Instead of an expensive welfare system, we will allocate 30% of our budget to a "base income", which will be enough to cover basic human needs. Every adult citizen is entitled to this. Because of this, there is no need for any progressive tax system, neither is there any need for sales tax. We will institute a flat tax rate of 25-30%.
3. Marriage: Is between anyone who wants it, only prerequisities are adulthood, and a member of the human race. (This may be extended to other sentient (extra-terrestrial) races once their existence is proven.
4. Labor: Deregulated. Because of the "Base income system" there is no need for disability plans, and employers can fire whoever they want.
5. Education: compulsory and free until the age of eighteen, higher education is free until undergraduate level. Above this level, scientific education is free of charge, higher business education is left to the market. Students finishing their PhD while being paid for by the state, are required to work for the state for 5 years before they are allowed to enter the job market. These first 5 years they will receive twice the "base income", with extra incentives for innovating work.
6. Healthcare: Basic health needs will be covered by the state, free of charge.
7. Defense: we will keep a small, high-tech military.
