Ruger Super Redhawk (with scope) + 18 rounds (6 rounds to a clip)
Walther P22 (with laser sight) + 3 magazines (10 round mag)
6x 3 inch (blade) throwing knives
Buster sword (solid iron construction, because hey if you can handle the heft having the added force in your swings is totaly worth it)
Obviously I wouldn't attempt to carry all this at once the guns alone would add up to a fair bit of weight with all the ammo and carrying more than two sidearms at the same time as the buster sword would just be silly.

I'm somewhat partial to my M-14.
Tanks, choppers, handguns, sword-chucks, giant robots... bring it on! :sniper:
When it comes to fighter-style vehicles, my choice of weapon is the Federation Danube-Class Runabout. Much more powerful than any other, it can easily hold its own against even a Jem'Hadar class warship if managed carefully enough.
For destroyer-power vehicles, I'd have to go with the Defiant-class starship. Small, capable, and damned powerful, it packs a superior punch.
For sheer undeniable power, however, I move straight up to either the Sovereign-class starship or the Prometheus-class starship, all things depending. Sovereign is more reliable, but the Prometheus has that additional power to it. It all depends on which is more necessary.
When it comes to hand weapons of a ranged nature, I prefer a type-two hand phaser, as opposed to the bulky phaser rifles. For melee weapons, I find that a twin-bladed Naginata is more than suitable.
...
That's all fantasy stuff, of course. In reality, if I were to use something ranged, it'd probably be an SVD Dragunov sniper rifle. For melee, I'd still use a twin-bladed Naginata, as that's not that hard to actually make or weild.
So, yah. There ya go.

Time. It will kill anyone & everyone.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

It doesn't matter how big the uber-powerful space armada they send against me; I just go back in time to when theirspecies were single cell organisms and remove the ENTIRE species from existance.
In smaller engagements, I just go back to 3 years before you were conceived and shoot your almost-father in the groin with a large-calibre firearm.
The fight cannot be lost if I remove you from existance!

Still, weapon of choice for dictatorships around the world (see Brazil, Africa etc.)
Nothing wrong with the accuracy of the FAL, 300 yards it will hit its intended target if the shooter knows how to shoot. It's a battle rifle, it's not an M21 accurized to shoot 1/4 MOA.
That said, my favorite weapon is the HK91/G3.

I'd take tanks-with-air-support over air support alone, though. One of the big problems that most aircraft have today is the requirement for visual identification, acquisition, and guidance of the weapons that they deploy. If I made an educated guess about the problems that faced ground-to-air missions in Kosovo, it would be that the weather wasn't as good as it was in the desert.

The A-10, by comparison, has crude night and bad weather capability.
Probably the best setup for bad weather/night capability outside of the Intruder is the LANTIRN system, but you only find that on Strike Eagles and a few F-16s.

We could do pretty damned well for an airplane that didn't have guns and rarely carried sidewinders. The most effective tactic was to get air superiority, of course. Flying low was pretty good too. We had more than a few fighters break off in excercises like Cope Thunder and Red Flag because we would dive for the deck, then fly at fifty or sixty feet AGL. The maneuver to get to that altitude was ususally what put them off. A couple negative g turns, followed by a six g spiral to the deck was more than they wanted to contend with.
When I mentioned Zunis earlier, one of the things I always had in the back of my mind was that all I needed to do to scare the crap out of some bogie was bring my nose around at him and fire off one of the rockets. All of a sudden, he'd think he was fighting an airplane that could shoot back and it would make him hold off just long enough to let me get out of the fight.

Professionally, I have to be proficient with all sorts of firearms.
My favourite so far are the Diamaco C7A2 (M-16 family weapon, adapted for the Canadian Forces and a few others) and the good old .50 cal Browning Machine Gun, or M-2 as the Americans call it.
But as a hobby, I study Western martial arts. Especially the armed ones.
My favourite melee weapon has to be the German Longsword. Two-handed, lightning-fast, and requires a lot more skill than most people would think. I am actually convinced that it is superior to the Katana.

****
and one of my personal choices for a melee weapon is yatağan. Everyone knows that high quality japanese steel to make katanas is produced by first making a steel of steel as thin as paper folding the steel into many layers and then forging it (it goes on with many details), turkish art of blacksmithing is similar in quality but the steel is made into two bars twisted around each other and then forged, so like japanese swords ancient turkish blades just get stronger when they are constantly used.
here are some pictures at metmuseum there is incredible detail given
The shape of blade gives the user the ability to end his slash with a pull, this second motion guarantees the target is cut (including heavy plate armor) again there is a very big similarity with katana. In kendo there is a second motion with slash instantly done after-together with slashing motion to cut the target(or limbs) down.

The combat ones actually aren't very heavy. They range from four to six feet in overall length, and are anywhere from four to eight pounds. The six-foot, eight-pound behemoths are monstrous in comparison to other swords, but they're exceptionally well-balanced and deceptively fast.

Actually, I'm talking about the Langes Schwert, and as opposed to a zweihander, you can use a longsword in only one hand while it is designed to be used in two. The uneducated typically call that sort of weapon a bastard sword. Roughly four feet in overall length, with a weight just a shade under four pounds. Moves like a dream. It rose into its own in the 15th century, and it is a beautifully brutal art, and a science at the same time.
And before you ask, I find it superior to the katana for two primary reasons.
1) It is intended for blade-to-blade parries, and a hard cut to the flat of one of those diamond-section blades won't break it.
2) It's double-edged.

If you ever find a magazine- or clip-fed Super Redhawk, I'd like to hear about it. If you want a .22LR pistol, a target or match model would probably fit your arsenal better as it would allow you options commensurate with the cartridge it fires. As to the shotgun, you'd do better with a pump-action with an extended magazine tube.
Just one man's humble opinion! ;)

But seriously, I like that .40 caliber Sig Sauer handgun, I can't remember its exact name, but I went shooting with my uncle one time and he brought his. It's an awesome little piece of work, its accurate, and it doesn't hurt your wrist that much, even after firing a little over 100 rounds out of it. Then again, a .357 will pretty much do any job you need it to do ^_^.

It'd be better if the little blade was on the other side of the grip so you had a combination sword and knuckle duster, I'd think.

a Dashi with nothing but Machine Guns... and I take down a Marauder II :D
Packing up that much firepower is incredibly fun
Ah, a big, fat, and slow target. Excellent.
Speed is life, which is why smaller is better. I (and my lance) of BSW-X1 Bushwackers (Inner Sphere 3058) will utilize superior manuverability, including the ability to maintain a distance, attacking from basically all directions with a complement of ER Large Lasers and LRM 5's.
There will be nothing but a large crater left of that vat-born bucket of bolts when I'm done with it. :D
(and according to Technical Readout: 3050, "Daishi" means "Great Death")
I prefer Argus to Bushwacker in favor of putting lots of low caliber clan autocannons with medium range (I had 6 of them I think) but this choice of autocannon is of course for short missions only.
My Daishi configuration is a brawler with clan LBMs, which instantly destroys small mech with one salvo and makes the big ones fall when put into right point. Then another salvo to the mech on ground and you got a rubble. Its about having a point shot and rest of my lance is designed to give me support I need. A vulture or catapult full of long range missiles keeps me from being tired at long range by countering enemy long range. And two other medium mechs with medium range energy weapons make it balanced.

Mmmm. I think I prefer GMC’s theory and just assume that the Klingon’s got it wrong. Well, images from the series (found via google) seem to support my theory.
The design has enough other disadvantages though. But I suppose it really depends on how it's supposed to be used. (It's not like there aren't a lot of weird special purpose blade weapons in our history)

Well, images from the series (found via google) seem to support my theory.
The main problem with your theory is that if you hold it that way the grip has a dip in the centre, which would make it somewhat awkward to hold.

The main problem with your theory is that if you hold it that way the grip has a dip in the centre, which would make it somewhat awkward to hold.Ah well, you know, Klingons.. Maybe they have oddly shaped hands, as well as ridges on their head :p
As I said, there's some problems with the design, but that seems to be how they're used in the series. Holding them in another way would be even more awkward, unless that bladelet part was put on the other side..
Some bat'leths have the same problem, btw (some more than others). Although it's a longer curve, so it should affect the grip less.

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
To quote Brother Maynard for the intents of how to use the Holy Hand Grenade (as stated by Wikipedia...). This weapons pwns everything else!
...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this, Thy hand grenade, that with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits... in Thy mercy." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... [Whereupon the friar is urged, "skip ahead a bit, brother"]... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." My boobs. They tend to be very disarming.
They've always disarmed me!! Boobs have always gotten me to feel so much better!!!!!!
A bullet and a nuclear weapon were talking.
The nuclear weapon was bragging on how many people it could kill and the damage it could do in just one use.
The bullet replied, "Yes, but I like the personal touch."
