What do you think of that? Good advice or pure stupidity?
Personally, I think it's true. An enemy you know is an enemy you can adapt to.

Well it does make the evil you know allot safer (as long as it doesn’t make you shit scared of it) but at the end of the day it is still evil

Knowing your enemy inplies that you know there current location and have some idea of how they might attack and can prepare yourself against that eventuallity. If you dont know your enemy they can launcha surprise attack and destroy you. It is definetly a good thing to know your enemy.

That's the most important part of espionage and counter espionage. You know most of his spies but keep them and he does the same. You both dont know which spies have been discovered and both sides keep on playing by supplying true and false information.
