Australian Racing icon Peter Brock died in a crash (during a race) a few hours ago.

It's not a good week to be an Australian icon apparently. :(

damn-neither of them were in an Australian "Death Pool", were they?

Not that it consoles fans or loved ones, but there are worse ways to go than doing what you love to do-And I think both of these guys truly loved what they did for a living.

RIP,Peter Brock.

If pattern of 3 have any implication in real life, we'll soon see another icon fall.

I guess I'd be huddled in my closet with some garlic and holy water if I were Paul Hogan for at least the remainder of the week... damn. :p

Oof, so, God's got it out for your celebrities down there it seems.

My condolences to his family by the way. He died doing what he loved, and that's got to count for something.

He just "acts" though, if you can call it that. He probably wont die while acting.

RIP Brock. According to wikipedia "he lost control of his vehicle on a bend and collided with a tree whilst driving in the Targa West '06 rally at 11.50am on September 8, 2006, near the township of Gidgegannup, 40km north-east of Perth. Brock and his co-driver Mick Hone were in a 2001 Daytona Coupe. Hone was taken to hospital in a stable condition."

Don Chipp died last week; he was as much an icon to a generation as Brocky.

Died doing what he loves I suppose.

So Don Chipp, Steve Irwins and now Peter Brock. Yep that's three.

Ironically I think media coverage has been inverse to level of greatness.
Chipp>Brock>Irwin; in my purely subjective opinion.
Apparently some "famous" Australian author died this week. Anyone know who?

This 'hurt' me more than Irwin, easily, i've always admire Brock what he did at Bathurst, he was the man.:(

At this rate, Oz will have no more celebs left.
They'll have to start poaching them from kiwiland again.

My one hope is that the next to go will be Russell Crowe. With luck he'll have an anuerism while throwing a phone at some poor, min wage, sod.

I think we let them poach him after that South American Hostage movie with Meg Ryan.

Brock one Bathurst by 6 laps in '79.

Even for a Victorian he was the hell as cool.
His Dinkum Sheds ads have been on TV here and he looks rather ghostly white, i'd been calling him Darth Brock.:(

Brocky is driving around heaven in his Holden, helping Steve Irvin round up stray reptiles in Heaven. :D

Irvin and Brocky gone, hope next week will be real quiet. Why these people, why not a useless politician?
