Mid-Quarter Progress Reports!

Chandelier

Today I got my progress report, since I'm halfway through the first quarter of the school year. I'm curious to know how students on here are doing in school so far.

Here are my grades:
AP Psychology- A+
AP English Language- A
AP Latin Literature- 98%
Pre-Calculus (Dual-Enrollment)- 97%
AP American History- 99%
AP Chemistry- 93%
Physics I Honors- A

So, I know many students on here may have just started school and probably aren't halfway through the first quarter yet (and I don't know if many schools give progress reports), but how are your grades in school so far?

my progress report for working would be a 6 month old newly launched product of mine pulled down almost a third of the company's income for the whole year. thats not bad... but sadly not profit cos its still in planning and development and we ain't efficient yet. bah :(
other than that i haven't been very productive or successful

Uh, not the same as US stuff, but I just got my GCSEs (after 2 years of hard work, and lots of exams - I'm 16 if anyone's wondering) and I'm really pleased my results (I got 12 A*s and 2 As) cos I put a hell of a lot of effort into them :)

What's dual-enrollment?

As for me:
High school - graduated.
University - graduated.
Currently - working.
Future - applying to law school/grad school for a masters/both.

Chandelier, congrats on achieving such good grades on your first quarter, I really respect kids like you who buckle down, study and have the will to achieve. But don't let it go to your head. I used to be the shining example of intellectual prowess in my year during my schoolyears, all A's, 90-100%'s and Grade 1's, all the time, everyday. But then I got arrogant, my ego became so inflated I eventually didn't even bother to make an effort in my schoolwork, believing that my superior intellect would make me a shoe-in as an all A student for Highers. I began to alienate my fellow students as well, with boastful, irritating displays such as this topic. Long story short, I scraped through my exams, only just barely managed to get into my 1st choice university course, and lost a lot of respect in the process. I'm so bloody lucky that some angel in heaven managed to see something in me, that they gave me another chance to redeem myself. Suffice to say I'm much more intellectually modest now. I'm getting back my limelight, but I'm just telling you, don't let your ego take your's away, you may not get it back.

Speech over.

I'm sorry, I really wasn't trying to show off, though I can see now that it must seem that way. I'm sorry that I came off as really arrogant. Grades matter a lot to me, and I was really happy when I got my progress report. It does wonders for my self-esteem, which is usually somewhat low.

I'm a junior.

What's dual-enrollment?

When a student takes a dual-enrollment course, they are taking it for high school and college credit. It differs from AP in that college credit is earned by taking the class and not by a test at the end of the year.

ZOMG, you only got a 93% in Chemistry?!?!?!

I don't beat myself for A's...

I'll keep that in mind. I always work really hard in my classes, and I'm not going to change that. I wasn't trying to boast, I just got really excited because I got my progress report. It makes me really happy to know my grades. I'm sorry if I've irritated anyone.

Aha. Interesting. My school didn't offer that, but then my school wasn't in the same country. Anyway, congrats on doing so well.

LMAO mid quarter grades. before it was quarter grades and semester grades. whats next? mid day grades?

i truely have a disliking for people that feel that they need to share their grades to the public world. it is as if they are truely trying to say to the rest of the world "i am better then you" but then you always get someone that 1. is in the same classes as you but younger, 2. getting better grades.

Here are my grades.

Graduated High school
Graduated University
Awarded Masters

Working.

:p

the real question is:

are you working in the field that you got your masters in? ;)

Bah, so I'm not a genius.

grades in high school do not actually measure inteligence. in high school grades measure:

1. ability to be able to turn homework in on time
2. ability to "attempt" ("good job billy you get a gold sticker today")
3. ability to make a teacher like you thus making the criteria your work must meet lower

i for one was a slacker back in high school. i didnt do my homework (waste of time) and my grades reflected such. i got myself into college and i did very well in all my classes (mid to high 90% in most, many of which have no required daily homework) i especially plan on someday visiting some of my high school teachers and showing them my marks in college. especailly the ones that told me "you are not going to do well in college", "college isnt for you", and my favorite (told this to my mother back in 8th grade) "i think your son may have a learning disablity":D

Well, my grading is over for a bit, but there's a test next week so I have to help record, give, and then correct that. Then I know I'm getting a stack or two of self-introductions here soon so... hmm... maybe 75% in English grading right now? ;)
