For those who don't know, he was a general of the American Revolution. I've always wondered if he was Jewish, but could never get a conclusive answer other than reading the highest rank a Jew attained in the Revolution was Colonel, I think. Anyway, Israel Putnam seems to be a very Jewish name. Is it possible, his family converted awhile back, or stop practicing?

Also, does anyone have a major interest in the American Revolution? It's probably my favorite part of American history. Fianlly, what do British people think of the Revolution today? Do you want us back...?

Who uses Google? Also, I don't do a search to ask a question...I consult people or God (through Wikipedia).

I have to be honest, I think US history is boring. Especially the American Revolution. That's all I've heard about since Kindergarten, so it's old. Well it's history so of course it's old, but you know what I mean.

I'm much more a fan of ancient history.
