Man am I angry! I just turned on TBS (channel 8 in NYC). They have a message on the screen saying they are blocking the program due to FCC regulations. What is it you ask? Porn? NO. Violence? NO. They are blocking out 2 episodes of Seinfeld!

Anyway, here's the point. Censorship is going too far. Agree? Disagree?If you have TBS, could you confirm whether it's being blocked where you are too?

I think it has more to do with broadcast regulations that censorship. For some reason, some stations cannot broadcast at certain times.

BTW, these are the two episodes being blocked:

I've seen both of them, and neither is more offensive compared to a plethora of things also on TV right now. TBS, by the way, has broadcast Seinfeld at this time for years and has never been blocked.

Jesus Christ, did you actually read my post? Some stations cannot/do not transmit during certian times, due to lots of things.

Over here in the EL, we have one channel like that. It's on about half the time, and it goes out randomly.

I nominate Switzerland. They have the most directly democratic system of government in the world.

I think the FCC needs to grow a sense of humor, and beyond that, TBS is known for (in my opinion excessively) editing material they liscence for national broadcasts (censor "ass"? Please...grow some balls).

TBS was showing the Braves Mets double header, and is probably still showing the post-game show. TBS can't show Mets games in the NYC metropolitan area because another station has the rights for the game for this area. (THE METS WON BOTH GAMES BY A COMBINED SCORE OF 12-1)

Well I think that the US should still be the leader of the freeworld. However it shouldn't be called the US. What needs to happen is Texas needs to get it's militia back together, succeed (we legally can), and then we need to take over the United States and rename them all Texas #2-#50. Then Texas can be the leader of the free world.

If you have a problem with not showing seinfeld buiy the dvds of the seasons like i did.....so if they dont show the episodes that night pop in the dvd....if you dont have a dvd player then get one

Wasn't that something to do with Major League Baseball and a business disagreement/contract snafu in which TBS was not allowed to air the games they had scheduled?

I'm not altogether certain because the only thing I pay less attention to than TBS is Baseball.

It's only people from the US who still are surprised about censorship there, The thing is, it is a big myth put about by your government that you live in the 'land of the free'. IIRC, they recently changed the FCC regs, making them even more puritannical than before. You can't even say 'shit' on US TV any more.
So maybe that's why.

This was disproven 3 years ago by the swiss scientist otto lefette. They infact communicate by HPF (High Pitched Farts), just outside the range of non-swiss hearing.
