Well? What is it?

All along the watchtower by hendrix as to be my all time favorite

with Lacuna Coils "enjoy the silence" by Depeche Mode as my current favorite.

In flames cover of murders in the rue morgue was really good too.

Does anyone here have a favorite cover song? Cure my boredom people!

Turn the Page, covered by Metallica. All Along the Watchtower was great, though. So was the Stevie Ray version of Little Wing.

Oh, wait, my real favorite:
Simple Man, covered by Shinedown. The lead singer for Shinedown is really amazing, and I truly believe that they do a far better job on the song than Skynyrd did. Partly because they made it acoustic. Here are some Shinedown videos (http://shinedown.com/_media.html) (including SimpleMan).

Leadbelly's version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" as covered by Nirvana, or another one originally by Leadbelly, "Black Betty" as covered by Ram Jam (and the Spiderbait version is okay, too.)

Tool's cover of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" is also pretty awesome. And Kyuss' cover of Black Sabbath's "Into the Void"...RATM's cover of NWA's "Fuck the Police"...

Also like:

"Evil Woman" covered by Black Sabbath.

"Symptom of the Universe" by Black Sabbath, covered by Sepultura.

The Beatles' "Help" covered by Deep Purple. (betcha not many of you have heard this one".

I really like NOFX's cover of 'Crazy Train' and how they've added a great ska sound to it. I also like 'Brown Eyed Girl' by the Sex Pistols.

Basically, any song that has been covered to make it different from the original. I hate it when a band covers a song but performs it exactly the same as the first band did.
