Since it seems enough people have this game perhaps we can get a game going..

If I can make it work. My router is being sketchy about adding portforwarding, adding stuff doesn't show up in either Internet Explorer for Firefox, probably need to upgrade..

So who has Civ 4 and or Warlords?

I am getting it on tuesday or Wednesday.

Civ III FOREVER! I don't mind the mechanics for CIV but I would NEVER tolerate those graphics, they look awefull even if they are zoom-in and all that fancy-pancy crap. The Civ III M-Unit pack is good enough for me.

For me, a normal game lasts about 8 to 9 hours (chalk it up to 24 on marathon), and that's without me having to wait on anybody else's turn. And, strangely enough, tomorrow being a Monday, I do have things to do tomorrow :D

Well I've got both Civ IV and Warlords, and I'm free most evenings/nights.

the interface in civ 3 was just awful. and there was no multiplayer. and big cities looked nothing like big cities.

I've got Civ 4, but, personally, I greatly prefer Civ 3. I prefer the visual style, the scale of the game, and various other factors.

The Rider rush, but only because the Chinese riders are going up against a lesser defense. Early on I find the defense is easier to defeat, and it doesn't get really all that useful until the rifleman.

Didn't get warlords yet..but I am still messing with Oblivion...tooo many mods tooo little time .;)

Alright man. I am going to reinstall the game and xfire. If you are still interested, drop me a line. Also if you are using a mod (sevomod etc), mention that too.

What I suggest is that we keep this thread open until the weekend and get a game going then. It'll make coordinating people from different timezones and working hours easier.

I loves civ4, but have never gone online with it, im at warlord level in the normal game though. Does anyone have the "FAll from Heaven" mod? its really well done.

Really, Civilization was the killer app which broke my resistance to owning a computer. My mate wanted to use his from time to time ...

A winning game of Civ 4 on a normal sized map takes me a minimum of 12 hours. I'm a tweaker, fiddling with every city, every turn, conducting manual patrols, changing things and then changing them back. I'd either drive all the other players crazy, or go crazy myself from having turns set too short, or the whole game would take days and days.
