an evil entity is released when an artifact from the Middle East is accidentally broken. the entity find a young woman (High School? College?) and follows her around.

Everytime she hears rumors, gossip, etc... the entity attacks and eats a portion of the subject of those rumors/gossips/ etc...

the more it/she hears, the more it feasts... the more it feasts, the more it possesses the woman.

and all this time, she is haunted by images of her eating the victims.

well, any suggestions to either Improve or Flesh it out?

Query: there is always a lot of gossip about celebrities. How would she/the entity get close to those bodyguard rich persons ?

I was thinking a spirit of some form.

as a movie, scenes of a person being attacked and strips of their flesh just dissapears might work better...

of course, there should be a limitation... like maybe it must be something empathic, so a recording or broadcast won't work, but it has to be spoken with feeling behind it.

Some immediate questions that come to mind that Im imagining an audience would want to know is:

Why gossip?

Does this woman have any kind of connection to this artifact?
In other words, when this demon/entity escapes, why this particular woman?

Also, I would make the person suffer a bit more than just horrifying visions.
I would highlight the struggle within, between the woman, and the possessing entity.

And of course, how do you stop the thing?

You may want to put a lot of thought into the ending, or it may get a little too "Excorcist", or "Posession of Emily Rose."

Why gossip?baised on the thread I referenced, it takes the idea that when you gossip/backstab/talk behind someone's back, it's like you're taking bites out of that person. it's baised on a verse from the Quoran. so taking that idea, I asked, why not create a mythology behind that. give a reason why...

In other words, when this demon/entity escapes, why this particular woman?perhaps she's the one who released the thing... say, while unpacking it she breaks it and the creature is released... or it could be that her ancistors were the ones that imprisioned it in the first place. so it could be trying to drive her mad in a revenge type thing...

Also, I would make the person suffer a bit more than just horrifying visions.she gets a small... err... taste... of what's happening to the other person... say, Guy A gets the skin off his back removed... she gets slashes there. Snob B gets a leg removed, she gets a cut exactly where the leg gets bitten off... something like that?

I would highlight the struggle within, between the woman, and the possessing entity.kinda like the first Wishmaster Movie? where the entity is searching for her because it's her wishes that willl free him and she realized what it is kinda deal.

And of course, how do you stop the thing?since this is from the Islamic Religion... I was thinking something in the Quoran.. or even the Quoran itself... a holy object from it's lands...

add to the paranoia of terroists in today's atmosphere, that might make it feasable...

a Name for the monster would work. anyone know any creature of Myth from the Middle East... or from Any Islamic/Muslim country that would work?
