Why I wish MST3K was still on.

While crusing the Coast to Coast AM website, there was a link to a comic strip called "Bugsport" or "Bugspot", whatever. Anyways I looked at this comic creator's blog and found that he had some Mystery Science Theater 3000 clips. I have never laughed so hard! "A Date with Family" is the best one I've seen.

You could try former replacement host Mike Nelson's new RiffTrax (http://www.rifftrax.com/) deally.

MST3K is one of my all-time favourites. Scary thing is, I'd already seen most of the movies they mocked before I saw 'em on the show.

Alright, why is it that all American websites end up in weird colors when using windows media player on my computer?

Teh intarwebs hate you. :pI'm beginning to get that feeling too... This never happens with German websites, so why the American ones?!

I don't want to watch these damn videos in green, magenta, and cyan splotches!

... at least I have a toaster now. That cheers me up a bit.

I'm gonna have to keep an eye on the Rifftrax thing...I have Reefer Madness and House on Haunted HIll narrated by Mike Nelson, and I have no regrets in picking those up. I miss MST3K, but with the digital archive project, I can watch any episode and there are more than enough. It is one of the best shows ever made.

I can only imagine what MST3K could do today... so much material!
I mean, Benifer, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise... the mind boggles.
Never mind the ton of bad movies since then.

However, they are back, sort of. They just did "Roadhouse", my favorite bad movie of all time!

As MST3K has always been about circulating the episodes, I feel no shame in admitting that there is a P2P site for episodes of it, amongst a lot of other stuff. It's called My Spleen. I won't provide a direct link, as I am not sure of Jolt and/or the NS Mods policies on that subject, but I'm sure you can find it.

Anyway, MST3K has always been great. I was more of a Joel fan than a Mike fan though. Despite that, I'm going to check out his Star Trek V clip. Oh how I wish Best Brains had the budget to buy the rights to MST it when it first came out! That would have been absolutely wonderful.

Has anyone else watched/listened to these Rifftracks yet? What are they? Just some sound clips you dub over the movie, or what?

On the subject, I have a microwave.

What digital archive project?

The Digital Archive Project (or DAP, Google it) was an effort to turn the VHA Tape Trading that was commonly done between fans into an internet file-swapping program. A LOT of the episodes were transferred into AVI files and put on P2P networks. As Kyronea said, there are several ways to go about doing it, I use Emule for mine. Of course, this is best done for episodes not to be found on VHS or DVD, so money goes to the good companies which made the effort to release this wonderful show for us.

I always preferred watching the original films and poking fun at them along with my quick-witted & cynical friends, rather than watching other people poking fun at the same films (only not as well) on MST3K.
