I'm doing history at the mo'. Extension class Russian history. Doing pretty well with the questions, apart from this;

2. Does Russian history consistently demonstrate that the country is a law unto itself?

What on earth does this require to me do?

Read the examiner's mind. If you don't and get it wrong you'll be downgraded.

It's a simply "yes" or "no" question. Maybe you should just answer it. :)

Wasn't there a big sticky about NS IS NOT FOR HOMEWORK!!!!!

And I think the question is fairly simple. Does the government consistently consider its own existence/safety/wealth more important than the welfare of the people? And does it think it is above the law?

That's how I interpret it, anyways.

Really? I though you were supposed to make shit up that sounds plausible enough and the examiner will give you high marks.

I believe the question is there to be answered. I'd pick yes or no and then defend it.

Is asking the professor for help that big a deal?

What does this require you to do?

Use what you've learned about the course to generate your opinion and outline it in a brief point-by-point argument for your case.

Kinda like the rest of history, really.

Write an essay arguing both positions and then pick one in your conclusion. That way you include the maximim amount of information and have still answered the question.

If you want to hedge your bets, I still say offering sexual favours is the ticket.

Answer a question with a question. Does any major country's history consistently demonstrate that the country is a law unto itself? The answer, of course, is yes.

Choose the answer that you think will piss the teacher off more and defend it using strong supporting evidence.

The correct answer, however, should be apparent, given Russia's history.

Read the material, books, class notes, etc. then think, think some more, and answer the question in essay form.
