I am VERY left handed... can't do much with my right hand. When I play baseball, I use a glove on my left hand to catch then take it off to throw.
I am also left footed, left eared, left eyed... so I guess I am very much in my right brain.
I'm left-handed, but due to the right-handed nature of both my parents, there are some things that I naturally do with my right hand - like scissors, vegetable peelers, etc.
Of course Im right handed. Id be dim not to be with everything made for right handers. If I learned to write in one of those silly languages that are written right to left Id do it with my left hand so ball point pens would last more than a few pages. If Im out of position to weld or perform some other single hamded skill with my right hand I will use my left. Otherwise it is swimming upstream just to be different.

Right-handed, but left-eyed. Sinister-eyed sounds better.
Considering the fact that the vision in my left eye is better than the right, this raises an interesting question. Is my left eye dominant because the right eye has poorer vision, or does my right eye have poorer vision because my left eye is dominant? Does one cause the other, and which is the cause and which is the effect?.

Similar story here, except that I chose to use my right hand (copying my older, right handed sister) - I was between two and three. (I actually write better, but slower, with my left hand, and throwing is about the same - if I get the footwork right!)
As for the people who are commenting that they use one hand for control and the other for power. That is normal - right handers usually have stronger left arms and lefties have more power in their right arms. To be ambidextrous you have to be able to demonstrate the same degree of control (more or less) with each hand.

That said, there are a few things I can do with my left hand that I can't do with my right (such as use chopsticks) and there are things I can do with my right that I can't do with my left (such as write), so it would be most appropriate to say that I'm mostly ambidextrous but somewhat mixed-handed.

Touch the index finger and thumb of one hand together forming a circle. With this hand at arm's length, center a distant object in that circle, using both eyes for vision. Then alternately close each eye. Whichever eye alone keeps the distant object centered in the circle is your dominant eye.

Well, you learn something new every day. I'm right eyed, apparently.
EDIT - wait, it alternates depending on which arm i use to centre the object. That test sucks.

EDIT2 - and if I use both hands to form the circle, the object appears on opposite ends of the circle, but never in the middle. So i'm uh...ambiocular?
In my case, with the left eye the object is off to the left side but still inside of the circle, while completely outside the circle with my right eye.
(edit: now with my glasses, I get the same result as you)
Again, I am much more near-sighted in the right eye, while left eye dominant. Perhaps this imbalance enhances the effect of the dominance in my case? (edit: whereas with more balanced or similar vision in each eye, the dominance effect is minimal or even nonexistant?)

My right eye is dominant. I figured that out in physics during the explanation for the parallax effect.
So, does anyone find it interesting that a quarter of astronauts in the Apollo program were left-handed? (according to the Left-Handers Handbook)
On the other hand, several murderers were left-handed. Jack the Ripper for one, at a time when only 2% of the population was left-handed, compared to around ten percent now.
Also, four of the last five presidents were left-handed according tothis (http://ask.yahoo.com/20000216.html) and this (http://www.indiana.edu/~primate/left.html#U.S.Presidents) (although I think that was claimed before George W. Bush was elected. So four out of six, since he's right-handed)
(edit: whereas with more balanced or similar vision in each eye, the dominance effect is minimal or even nonexistant?)
Probably. I've had my vision tested and it's pretty much the same in each eye.

It probably just has to do with different reactions to wear on each eye. But it could have something to do with the nerve connections in the brain. Odds are it's in the eyes themselves, though.
