Today as I came out of school I noticed the nice cold air and the thought came to me..

Fall is coming!

I got home and took a walk in the woods, the fresh chilly air, the leaves begining to change, the feeling I got was just.. happy!

NOTE: The chilly breeze might be from Ernesto that's coming this way, and the trees might just be dead from termites..

But hey, who cares?!


I can't wait for the coldness and the snow and the everything..

Down here in south Florida, we have summer and not-summer, and that's it.

I wish it snowed here. We'll get 6 months of wonderful rain, but only a day or so of snow.

It won't even get properly cold! 40 degrees is not cold! It's cool at best.

Fall kicks ass. The leaves turn colors, the humid heat of summer disappears, and we get Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I haven't seen a proper snow in over a decade now. The last time I got snowed on for real was when I was 3. I miss it greatly, even though the climate out here makes for beautiful terrain.

I would be truly devastated if my father was still teaching down there.

Meh. This August is the one with the least sunshine hours since 1951. It sucks! I'm not quite ready for fall just yet. How about some nice Indian summer instead?

the summer here is over 100F most of the time, the winter below zero (windchill anyway) the spring marked with tornadoes and rain and allergies.

Fall is the only season I can go outside and drink my coffee and be happy, also I get to shop a lot and cuss at football players. ;)

ekhh....winter....again? I've had enough of freezing my ass off and now its coming back all over again. First the observing of all that is good and loved about the warm summer being dashed away with the arrival of frost and then with the miserably cold morning rains, but not quite cold enough for snow.

The only thing I like about winter is the snow... and the times it snows IMO is too few and way too far inbetween. Erg I hate cold morning rains with a passion...

But what the hell.. Yay Snow!

January 18.4 degrees C, 79% Humidity
Febraury 20.1 degrees C, 81% Humidity
March 20.5 degrees C, 86% Humidity

Also, the difference between max and min temperature during summer months is less than 4 degrees. It gets hot and stays hot 24/7.

One of the strangest sights round here is come December, where it dips down just below 20C, all the locals start donning woollen jerseys, ski jackets and gloves and wander about complaining how cold it is!

Then during summer, they don't seem to sweat at all. You can still see businessmen walking around outside in full business suit - including waistcoat. All buttoned-up, and not a spot of sweat on them.

We only fell to 0F (-18C) or lower six times, the lowest was -4F (-20C). We've been known to have days where that's the high for the day. We set records for January and February, getting up to about 61F (16C). We actually had rain more often than snow. Normally, if anything's going to fall from the sky before mid-April, it's snow. We even had days in the middle od January where the low was above freezing. Normally, our highs aren't that warm until the 1st of March.

Of course the payoff is that our summers are mild. Normal July high is 81F (27C). We only saw 90F (32C) or higher twice this year.

ekhh....winter....again? I've had enough of freezing my ass off and now its coming back all over again. First the observing of all that is good and loved about the warm summer being dashed away with the arrival of frost and then with the miserably cold morning rains, but not quite cold enough for snow.

The only thing I like about winter is the snow... and the times it snows IMO is too few and way too far inbetween. Erg I hate cold morning rains with a passion...

But what the hell.. Yay Snow!
Cold morning rains are awesome. Only surpassed by thunderstorms. And there's nothing I love about the summer...except for said thunderstorms. That's it. But I'd much rather have the winter's chill than a stormy summer. At least there's snow.

I got home and took a walk in the woods, the fresh chilly air, the leaves begining to change, the feeling I got was just.. happy!

NOTE: The chilly breeze might be from Ernesto that's coming this way, and the trees might just be dead from termites..

But hey, who cares?!


I can't wait for the coldness and the snow and the everything..

So upon reading this thread I reflected on my personal life....

I had walked outside, just the other day, and noticed a slight chill touch the back of my neck. Spreading quickly, it overtook my body, and I shivered like a lost puppy in a busy city.

The sun was masked behind thick grey clouds and no birds chirped and no bunnies hopped. A thrill of anticipation and excitement overtook me. It was almost perfect except for one thing.....
