Yep, I live in North Carolina, and currently we're getting pounded by Tropical Storm Ernesto. And school is t3h cancelled... even though today would have been the 5th day of school. Well, this sucks. Ernesto + no school = extremely bored Pancake.

Meanwhile, I'd thought we'd share hurricane stories- what was it like in Isabel, Allison, Dennis, etc? Isabel sucked, because power was knocked out for a week and a half where I live, God was that awful. I was at church camp (that's when I was still Christian) when Dennis came, it rained EVERY DAY. Getting to Bible studies was the same as jumping in a pond. And one time school was cancelled because Ophelia was coming straight for us, but the day school was cancelled Ophelia stalled and went away. And during Charley I went school shopping (it was the weekend before school started). I regularly go out and play in the rain in tropical storms and depressions, so Ernesto + boredom could = very soggy Pancake. :)

Happy Ernesto Day!

There aren't any hurricans really in Ireland. There was a tornado in Galway a few months ago. In 1997 a storm came that was so bad in knocked out the entire electricity network in the south of the country. We had no electricity on xmas day. But it was one of the best xmas's ever!

No hurricanes? Lucky, you don't get any idiot weathermen standing in the middle of a flooded street and 80 mph winds, while saying "ZOMG t3h hUrrIcaNe 1S T3h hEre1!1!!!!1111!!!11!!elevety11!1shift+one!!!!11 iM IN FLorIDa ANd WeRe G3tt1Ng t3h PWN3Dz0rz!!!!!!!!!1"
