How was your summer?

As summer is ending or has ended for most, I must ask how everybody's summer went. What did you spend it doing; how was it compared to previous summers; etc?

I had the best summer of my life. The pictures speak for themselves. (http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j187/ladamesansmerci/Calgary%20Jifferettes%202006/)

Wow! Great pics.
I had a pretty nice summer but I have no pics. You must take my word for it.

The highlight of my summer was my dad leaving me the apartment... the downside was realising that I'm forced to have a shitty job while I look for real work.

I don't know. I was too busy doing paperwork and getting health insurance during the two weeks that I had.

I behaved very oddly this summer. :)As in you didn't get any kicks in the groin this year? That would be odd indeed :p

Pretty good.
I went to Shanghai which was cool. They haven't torn all the old buildings down yet. I stayed at the Peace Hotel, which was built in 1906. Went on a tour there around the town and outside, took in a silk factory where I bought a load of stuff dead cheap.

Also went to Taiwan and whilst there got to meet some Sumo Wrestlers who were there on an official visit. They were Ozuki too - the highest level. So that was cool. Got a photo of me and one of them.
Also caught up with an ex-g/f who I hadn't seen for 4 years. She's married with a kid now, so nothing's going to happen there, but it was still great to see her again. One of the few ex's that I've remained friends with.

And final Sunday before school started, I went on a junk trip around HK island to Po Toi island for lunch. Absolutely beautiful weather too. Perfect day.

Rest of the time spent sitting outside on the blacony or at the beach reading.

So, not bad at all.

Yes, but the others didn't have a nuclear arsenal at their disposal . . .
Neither does anyone on NS, of course, but I'm just pointing out that it is possible for you to be stopped.

I had a pretty sick summer. It was fairly awesome. Just chilled, all the time. Smoked a bunch of weed, did acid a few times...good fun, all in all.

By completely exterminating all human life on Earth in an orgy of mechanized death and destruction that would be remembered for generations by those few species of insect that survive the fall of man? Yes, yes I think that would work, at least in the short term.
The only problem I see happening if you were to grab on to the hull of one of the Drop-Ships fleeing Earth and then ride it into the one of the oddly phallic Conestoga-class starships being used to hold the last refugees of humanity.

Went to NYC in June...had a blast.

The rest of the summer has been me being as lazy as possible before I go back to classes. (Tuesday?? NOOOOOOOOOO!)

Meh.

Just meh.

I stayed cooped up by my computer, doing nothing for 99% of the time. Saw friends 3 whole times over the whole summer (seeing them a 4th to see SoaP). Did well on the two auditions I had at the end of the summer. Enjoyed a music festival.

In other words... I wasted the entire damn thing.

Mostly on NSG.

I blame you guys!

for the most part its been... ok. first time in my life i haven't had an x-week long summer holiday off from doing stuff. ok since i was 14 or so i worked for my parents in the summer hols, but this was working pretty much straight through, full time. on that count it was pretty sucky, and also having to deal with some things and being put on medication for depression all racks up the sucky end of things :P

however, i did get to spend some great time with glitziness :) and things between us have never been better i feel. we went on a 5 day trip with my parents down to bordeaux in France last month (pics (http://www.hlj.me.uk/pics/france%200706/france0706.htm)), and then i joined with her and her family for a week in Brittanty, which was simply wonderful in spending time together like that :)
she's been the absolute highlight of my summer, and is the "highlight" of my life :fluffle: its been great her having been on holiday, too, as it means we can talk during the days as well as just the evenings, and she's been more free to come visit and stay round and things :)

other than that, i got some good websites built this summer and learned a fair bit. designed a maze we're going to go visit on sunday, too *nods*

My summer wasn't much to speak of. I've been working through most of it, and been too tired to enjoy the nice and warm weather. And few of my friends were here during the summer - some even moved away! :(

But I've had some good company here on NS :) There were some nice Fluff-threads to post in, and some posters with a lot of free time :D

I miss them now... Both the threads and the posters.

Summer moved on
And the way it goes
You can't tag along

Honey moved out
And the way it went
Leaves no doubt

Moments will pass
In the morning light
I found out

Seasons can't last
And there's one thing
Left to ask

Stay, don't just walk away
And leave me another day
A day just like today
With nobody else around

My summer's been ok. New windows in and the house smells of paint. Got a mountain leader course coming up next week, and I'm totally out of shape though...

Meh.... kinda crappy. But not too bad. Mostly just balancing my summer job, and playing. And thats it. I begin 1st year in the graphic design program at York University next week, should be pretty interesting!
