First of all, some Australian guys on this very forum said that the US infantry are fairly poorly trained.

Yes indeedy they are. Undertrained and over-equipped.

To give you an idea Australian Army General Infantry is about as trained as the US Rangers. US GI's are about as trained as Australian highschool cadets.

My father is a training instructor in the Australian army, and USA sends it's troops here for ace training all of the time. They have a terrible reputation for being...terrible. Hard to describe, but more Americans have died training in Australia than Australians to give you an idea.

My father oversaw a trench warfare excercise where two americans were killed, because they were playing music over their headsets, and had smuggled coke into the mock 'hot zone'.They were just leaning on the edge of the trench, listening to music, and the tank squished their top halves. All they had to do was duck. All they had to do was have their headset switched on to hear that the tank was coming.

Anyway, enough of that. On the topic of Chinese in war. Every year that passess the Chinese military becomes more and more formiddable. I would sayy not to underestimate them. Chinese culture also teaches the idea of 'smiling tiger' so if the Chinese did have some amazing 'secret weapon', piece of equipment, or tactic, they probably wouldn't tell us. Inevitably, China will surpass the US. I believe that China could resist an invasion, but I'm not so sure about winning an open war.

Right, and you have any proof of this? Care to give a time-frame? Any evidence?

The U.S. could win pretty much any convential war almost anywhere at just about any time.

Too bad smart people don't fight conventional wars with the U.S. for that very reason.

The Americans would lose in China, or anywhere in Asia. A western nation cannot win a land war in Asia. There is a reason why after Korea Eishenhower said "never again" to fighting a land war in Asia. We beat Japan in ww2, but only after using nukes. The US military isnt stupid. They know this too. the DOD is stupid, and the gov is, but not the military. The DOD is totally fucking retarded, havent learned anything since Nam.

Those aren't conventional wars though.

I thought any war without nukes was "conventional".
