Time is always ticking against us
slowly in pain
quickly in joy
so many attachments
so many promises
they'll soon be nothing more than deaths and lies
Nothing can change that
It makes every emotion lead to pain
hope turns to disappointment
love turns to mourning
joy leads to pain
All working against us in one way or another
fine by me
these are the rules of life
Rules I learned to live by
Soon, everyone learns them
nothing is eternal except scars that run deep
Deeper than anything else
love turns to hate
joy to pain
The rules of life, created by time ticking away

play the piano, just play it for me
the liquid, quite quicked wash over we
your ivory hands on the ivory keys
the days that you smiled, the days I'd not see

it's funtime, it's suntime and goofballs about.
he's passing his judgement, of that there's no doubt
but it's simple, so simple, and it has no clout
you stand by your free verse 'cos he's just a lout.

i'm iffy about this. igive it a 5.
