I'm looking at Arnie right now, since there's no way I'll ever vote for the other candidates.

I'd vote for anyone but Arnie. I voted against him when I lived in California during the recall, and the only reason I'm not upset I don't live there now is because I get to vote against Katherine Harris this year.

I'm gonna vote for Stephen Colbert. I don't give a crap if he lives in New York, or doesn't want to run.

San Francisco county. We had our own special ballots. Over 80% of the county voted the same way I did. ;)

If I actually live there, I would vote for the Libertarian canditate.

My personal choice: None of the above.

The Governator and Angelides are ruled out automatically as a matter of principle. The Greens could be tollerable if they weren't infested with statist socialists. And I do not like Olivier's stance on immigration (which seems to amount to something like "bend over and take it in the rear from the Feds" (http://www.2006gov.com/issues001.html) Hey Art, the solution to "illegals" using the welfare state is to dismantle the welfare state, not punish the poor for trying to better themselves the only way they know how. He actually sounds like a "libertarian" who is defending the integrity and continued operation of the welfare state for Jebus' sake... Besides, all the flag waving seems rather surreal, considering he's the candidate of a party that prides itself in how fantastically anti-government it supposedly is. That and all the emphasis on how the opposition is "Pro-illegal immigrant" and how "STOPPING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION" is imporant is a little too Minuteman Project-y for my tastes). Alas, I am left without party or candidate. :(

(edit: The only candidate that I might consider thinking about voting for is Forrest Hill for Secretary of State (https://www.voteforrest.org/index.php). He is a Green, but I like what he has to say about voting machines [especially requiring open source software and paper trails], instant runoff/proportional voting, prisoner voting rights, and immigrant rights. I'm not so sure about the public election financing or corporate responsibility areas of his platform; I am not a fan of the corporation, but I fear a "pro-corporate responsibility" stance turning into a "pro-statist socialist/welfare state" stance, which is probably highly likely with the Green Party. Since the corporation is already a model of statist socialism, anyway...)

Who will win: The Governator.

In the last set of propositions, proposals to create state funded preschool and to increase funding for public libraries both failed (http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/sov/2006_primary/sov_detail_primary_props.pdf). The people of California are simply not in a tax gathering and spending mood at the moment. Currently, the only candidate who matters, and whose rhetoric matches this apparent popular mood, is Arnold.

Angelides keeps talking about free education and other expensive measures and ideas. As such, he appears to be way out of step with what, as actual electoral results show, the people of California want. Add on top of that the fact that he is not a famous Hollywood celebrity, and the fact that he is not the incumbent and his campaign is well set to go down in flames.

I still think the world would be a better place today if Larry Flynt were governor of California. *nod*

Not being from CA, I have to ask those who are: Can Arnie run for a third term in 2010 or does the CA Constitution bar him from more than two terms?

I'm going to vote for Camejo. Neither Schwarzenegger or Angelides appeal to me one bit.

Not to mention I'm sick and tired of Schwarzenegger's damned political commercials that have been on since the primaries.
