About those Israeli Chemical Weapons...

You know, the ones a Lebanese doctor says turns people black and kills them...

Here, a German news team gets an independent medical and scientific examination, including multiple experts, to examine and analyze samples taken directly from the bodies in question.

German public TV ARD looked into the latest mainstream antisemitic libel to make the rounds of Arab and Western media, the report that mysteriously blackened bodies in Lebanon had been victims of mysterious super-blackening Zionist “chemical weapons.” They took tissue samples from the bodies and had them scientifically analyzed. And nobody scientifically analyzes better than Germans.

Nothing gross in the film - so don't worry.

I'll leave the conclusions as a surprise - they're towards the end of the video clip.

Because Agence France Presse has been on about the Israelis using evil chemical weapons - repeating the Lebanese assertions as though there are true.

When they are, in fact, lies.

Yeah? Who gives a crap? You?

Hands up everybody here who relies solely upon - what was it? Agence France Presse? Hands up everybody whose long-standing trust in Agence France Presse has been shaken by DKs' amazing scoop.

Hmm... not finding it. Google News turns up:
http://www.adnki.com/index_2Level_English.php?cat=Security&loid=8.0.326850891&par=

Beirut, 2 August (AKI) - The Israeli military may have used chemical weapons against civilians in last Sunday's deadly bombardment of an apartment block in the southern Lebanese city of Qana, a senior local Lebanese medic has told Adnkronos International (AKI). "From an initial examination of the corpses and body parts that have been arriving here each day, it is highly likely that the Israeli army used various kinds of chemical weapons in the attack," said Mustafa Jarradi, the department head of the main hospital in the southern port city of Tyre, which has been receiving victims from Qana.

At least 60 people, including 30 children, were killed in the attack.

"I don't rule out the possibility that the Israeli military has used phosphorous," said Jarradi, appealing to international laboratories to test the Qana victims' remains and confirm his diagnosis.

"To be certain, sophisticated analysis is needed, which we are currently unable to carry out as we are struggling to cope with the victims of the conflict in the south which we are admitting to hospital each day," Jarradi stressed.
Emphasis mine.

All other news stories on Google turn up about the same, that doctors were saying that they suspected chemcial weapons were used due to the conditions of the bodies, but were not able to confirm due to lack of equipment to test.

So please link off to whatever article you say says that chemical weapons were used by the Israelis without any modifiers to state that it wasn't confirmed.

Edit as DK added in info: Your first linke, which I also used, has MAY and needs to be confirmed. What part of these words are you failing to understand that they are conditionals?

The second link is an editorial for Pete's sake and not even mainstream media at that.

I'm starting to think you must hate scarecrows for some reason as you keep attacking them.

Yeah, Media spreads lies all over the place to cause a sensation among the public, sensation and more importantly fear sells papers/gets ratings. It comes as no surprise to me they would do something like this.

how is this lie-mongering anti-semitic?

I have to defend DK here. I do not agree with many(if any)of DK's veiwpoints, and we have established differences on subjects such as Islam and the recent conflict in lebannon, but this report was very interesting and informative.I may not wholey support Israels actions, but in the intrest of fair mindedness and balanced veiwpoints,Israel's misdeeds should not be exagerated(and nor should Hezbollah's or those of the muslim community either-but hey, let's leave that for another discussion).
That was a good report, more of this please DK and less of the crap(a bit of a backhanded compliment -but I hope you have a sense of humour!)

I did find the German news investigation quite thorough, compared to a lot of "journalism" these days.

But, people probably find it boring, so we'll get more of the poorly done news.

Could be worse, Japan is non-stop about who the next prime minister will be and the fact that Japanese refuse to buy and eat US beef.

And the normal stuff about panties (don't ask).

Japan is a nation obsessed with women's undergarments and every week (sometimes every day) there seems to be SOME sort of story that has something to do with them.

It is, and I still consider the German public broadcasting companies and especially their news shows and political magazins (like the one from which you took the video) to rank among the most trustworthy and thorough sources of information available.
They still adhere to the principle "If we do it, we do it right". And should they get it wrong, they will give you a corrected update which gets as much airtime as the original story.
The one thing I missed most while abroad is this reliable source of information. That, and German bread. :p
And I surely don't find it boring at all.
