I have a question. Christianity and other religions teach people that they shouldn't have too much fun. As a virgin I cannot say 100% sure but... sex is fun right? What kind of a god would make it possible that sex is fun and then tells some guy-with-beard to tell everyone you shouldn't have fun.

And they came up with saying homosexuality is unnatural. Well, how fucking natural is it to cut women's genitals, to encourage (US government policy on sexual education) youth to not have sex or discourage (like the Holy Full-With-Old-Out-Of-Touch-With-Reality-Men See) masturbation?

In some fucked up cultures they punish women when they're raped, who came up with that? I bet religious people.

In the Netherlands (last month), some guy wasn't allowed on a religious school because his sister wore jeans, and because his family limitedly used the internet and watched TV. The school educates people to become teachers... religious freaks teaching children?

Then again they tried to manipulate me too, on my primary school one teacher tried to convince me that hell exists (to do what scare me?) and that some guy in the bible was 600+ years... who benefits from teaching a child such a stupid lie?

Do Christians take themselves serious when they say they believe all the crap the religious establishment made up for them? Cannot they say that most of it are lies to keep them in check in benefit of... I honestly wouldn't know.

I follow my own path, I have my own morals and views on the world. I do not feel the need to be part of an organized group which resulted in centuries of bloodshed and authoritarianism in the name of decency...

It's mainly the Calvinists and their various offshoots that believe in not having fun at all.
The Eden story is often used as an example that God said have sex (i.e. fun) as much as you want, as long as your married. It's not that most Christian sects believe the Bible explicitely states that you shouldn't have too much fun, just that you shouldn't have unbridled fun.

Religion is there to give a society stability, predictability, and a sense of cohesiveness, hence the societal controls/rules/taboos/traditions it generates.

It might _also_ be a guide to the divine, but that's another question!

*shrug* well as long as its legal its okay I guess (unfortunately for the school no graduates will ever be allowed to teach in other schools because religious nuts and kids don’t mix)

Prove without a doubt its not real and don’t be so hard on them its okay (and maybe beneficial) to know that there is someone looking out for you and that you don’t just rot away

well Jesus could kick the shit out of any bed monster (he can freaking walk on water what more do you need!), a 600+ year old guy is like a story to spice up the plot and hell is to show that evil people can't escape justice (would be kind of a shitty heaven if anyone could get in like Wales)

Also not all people believe in some sort of hell (though it does exist in almost all religions so it could be a necessity of the human mind)

But once, to science at least, it became obvious that the Earth in fact revolved around the Sun, it was the Church that found this unacceptable in light of humanity's supposed chosen-race status at the heart of God's creation, and persecuted scientists for the thoughtcrime of daring to come to their own rational conclusions and publicize them.

That's actually untrue. From an individual entity's perspective, the purpose of sex is quite literally to be happy or have fun. The fact that it results in children is of concern only to the emergent mechanism of evolution, the furtherance of the species being of no intrinsic concern to an individual. If sex wasn't awesome we wouldn't do it. :D

It amuses me that the "purpose" of sex propogated by theists is from an evolutionary perspective, which they don't believe in....
