Cacophony Society, good or bad?

My view is probably obvious, if not because of my signature, then because I even know of them.

For those of you who don't know who they are. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cacophony_Society)

In short, they are pranksters. Seen the movie (/read the book) Fight Club? Based on Cacophony.

Do you internet peeps feel that it's good there are people out there doing this, or are they a menace? (Please have an Informed opinion, I hate those not willing to make a strong statement, nor argue what they believe)

Not the slightest need to tolerate the existence of pranksters in the first place.

I know Chuck Palahniuk based Project Mayhem off Fight Club. I'm not sure if that puts them in a good light though.

True, it kinda made them look like terrorists, as opposed to a group like Improv Everywhere.

If they harm no one, I'm all for pranksters.

They make the world a better place by brightening it.

If anyone wants to know anything specific, ask and I'll try my best, though it's not really the "Ask a cacophonist" thread.

Come on, only a few people care about such a disruptive group?

And yeah, the idea is that no people get hurt, at least directly.

I think it's great that there are people out there doing that. The idea of flash mobs also holds a certain irresistible appeal. I don't see why they would be a "menace" at all assuming they're not endangering other people (which they don't seem to be).
I'm not one for Jackass-style stupid bullshit stunts, because more often than not they're just not funny in the least. But a Picnic on Golden Gate Bridge and an Urban Iditarod? Hell yeah, sign me up.

That kind of a slightly anarchist spirit is like a breath of fresh air in society's daily routine.

some people need to be pranked in order to keep them on their toes. life is a boring place if everything works the same and everyone acts the same in every situation. (or atleast day to day situations)
