Ok, by now, we all know who John Mark Karr is. He's the guy who confessed to killing and raping JonBenet Ramsey. However, some people are now saying that he didn't actually do it. One of the evidence that I've heard is that Karr confessed to drugging her, however, there was no drugs found in JonBenet. Also, he apparently had a sick obession about this case, he knows everything about it, so he can actually make a pretty convincing confession. However, the question still remains is why? Why would someone confess to a crime like this? Once again, one of the theories is that he needed a ride home from Thailand, and didn't have enough money. Maybe he's sick in the head and wants his 15 minutes of fame? I don't know. So, what do yall think, is Karr the guy?

Yea, but he'll always be remembered as the nutjob who obessed over JonBenet if it turns out he didn't do it.

He certainly doesn't sound like he's all there. Preliminary reports said he was in Thailand wanting to get a sex change - the only numbers he had called from his room was to one of the sex change clinics.

However, being sick in the head doesn't necessarily excuse oneself from abducting and killing a young girl. Indeed, one would imagine that mental illness is almost a prerequisite.

It's a trade-off. Being remembered as a pedophile nutjob vs. getting free shrimp and champagne? A true philosophical question.

That is true, just because you are sick in the head doesn't excuse you from serving your time. However, the question is, did he do it? I think we'll just have to wait for the DNA results.

Though it might be possible that there was and the Police never revealed that info to the public. They do that sometimes, so they'll know the real villian if he ever confesses.

although the police did rule him out of investigations early on, so they must have had a good reason for that

Perhaps,but remember,the police chief had to resign over the way the investigation was handled,so who knows whether some crucial evidence got thrown out or was hopelessly compromised. Still, i am of the opinion Karr did it,simply because he apparently gave details to the police that was not released to the general public.Time will tell. I'll tell you though,if it turns out he was guilty, i am guilty of convicting the parents in my mind.The way the media lead me to believe that,ach I give myself a mental lashing.

I don't know. There is a lot of evidence against him. Also his past in relation to children is disturbing. Apparently he didn't rape her. He has admitted to sexually abusing her. Even if he didn't do it, he is sick.

I don't think he did it. if he is a pedo... it's rather unusual that this is the only child he obsessed over for 10 years, there should be more "child incidents." in his past... why isn't he confessing to others?

and the fact that his family says he was half way across the country at the time of the murder.

I just heard on the radio (yeah, I know links are important, so I'll try to find one) that Karr's wife (whom he married when she was just thirteen) has found some love letters or something from him which are signed with the same initials as the JonBenet ransom letter. It was something like that...let me see if I can find the story...
