This is the second time today I've read "what's the haps", after never having heard it before. Are you by any chance from Northern California? Or is this not a regional thing?

As for actually answering your question: best just hang out a bit and watch things for a couple of days (or weeks, or months) and see for yourself.

It can be kinda hard to describe, really. :p

As long as you have a healthy taste for either 1) endless debates about the ever-same political topics, 2) endless debates about the ever-same religious topics, 3) endless debates about the ever-same social issues, or 4) escapist fluff threads, I'd say you'll feel right at home here. ;)

Depends, if you read the resolutions, they state the effects on your country. The UN Forum is the best place for that.

2. Is there any way to propose UN amendments?
UN Forum has the stickies, along with the game FAQ (all of which are good reads along with the one-stop shop. It keeps the Mods happy).

3. What's the best way to go about picking your region?
Dart board and darts have always worked best for me. Go do a search for like minded regions (There's a few Galt's Gulches out there).

Those are best suited for the United Nations forum (jolt.co.uk public forums > Massive Multiplayer Online Games > NationStates > The United Nations)

They don't mean squat on General. This is all off-topic, with regards to your actual nation. The actual roleplaying happens in International Incidents and that other one...I don't know it's name after almost 2 years, I never rp...

As for regions; find a person you like, check out their region. If it has others you like, or shares your views as to rping and the like, try to move there. Possibly PM the delegate first.
