Did you miss Milli Vanilli?

You date yourself, but that one guy from Milli Vanilli could actually sing on his own, it turns out. He even did some solo stuff. In any case, they playbacked to someone else's voice. Mr. Iglesias, on the other hand, is dubbed by himself. It's sneakier.

Probably most of them. I've experimented with lame-ass cheapo song production, and I can make even my voice sound passable. If that's possible, then the pros could make a trio of cats sound like heaven itself.

LMAO. I wish I could understand the commentary though.

Oh, it's basically an ad for the show and lets us know that they will be "exposing" Britney Spears, as well, in tonight's episode.

Pretty much all Pop groups and Pop Rock bands these days overdub their voices with studio-assisted ones. N'Sync did it. Good Charlotte does it. Britney Spears definitely does it.
Three good examples should be enough, considering those are three extremely popular groups/people. And one of them FINALLY died out.

When I played that, my cat wandered into the room, probably to find the wounded duck. :p

Hmmmm, would this be the right moment to point out that the audio recording of that Iglesias performance made its rounds via email about 4 years ago or so? It was pretty much unescapable back then, but maybe Sweden got spared. ;)

Oh, I've seen similar things before. I didn't claim it was new. However, dating myself to a few years back is still better than dating myself to the age of Milli Vanilli.

I'm impressed at just how bad he sounds. That's fantastic! :)
Haha. He's crap.
I'm glad to see swedish TV is as highbrow as american tho'.

Hmm.. what does not only having missed that email round, but also never having heard of that guy before make me? (You may, in your in-depth analysis, also consider the fact that I'm very well aware of Milli Vanilli..)

Like crap.
Avril Lavigne naturally sounds like nails on a chalkboard, but listen to her on an album song.

Done that; from your description of her natural voice, they haven't electronically altered her voice, then.
Hehe. I was playing with voice modification myself the other day.
But not really like that. :p

Clueless? Out of the loop? Too young? A woman of good taste but limited pop culture knowledge? A loser? You tell me. :p

It's been that way ever since MTV was launched.

I don't sing. I do, however, write my own music. As in, orchestral music.
