Do you make it? How often? What brand? Do you use the pre-packaged flavorings, or do you make your own? Lots of broth, or not? Do I make you horny? What flavor is your favorite? Any recipes?

OK!

Sometimes! Oops... sometimes! Whatever is the cheapest! Yes and yes. Depends on whether it is for a side dish or a soup. Yes. You are. Here is a recipe for mango peach salsa... 1 chopped mango, 1 chopped peach, chopped scallions, 1 chopped jalepeno, 1 chopped red bell pepper, cilantro, oil, lime juice, a little soy sauce. Mix and enjoy.

Ramen is great, it is so cheap and so good. The only thing different that I have ever done to my ramen is put small bits of hot dog in there for meaty goodness. However, if I have a cup of ramen with its meat and veggies in there then no improvement is necessary.

Mmm. Noodles.

Worsterchire. A fuckload of it. Lee & Perrins.

We also buy packages of the frozen, microwavable stir fry and cook it up, then make three to five packages of noodles. Drain most of the water from your noodles, then dump in your flavor stuff. Mix well with the stir-fry, and bam. Insta-grub that's not going to leave you hungry in twenty minutes.

I work at a convenience store and get a massive discount on Hot Pockets, so we consume hundreds of those fuckers a week, as well.

Aaaaah, OK. In that case - I'm a student. Of course I like ramen, it's my staple diet. :D

Also: Don't make it, don't know how; eat it when I feel like it (at home) or at least 4 times a week (uni); usually the cheapy, own brand ones because they cost 9p :p; prefer to make my own, but prepacked will do if nothing else; deffo not, unless they're going in a soup; of course you do, you're LG ¬_¬; Usually go with chicken because it's easier, but curry ones are good (thick curry sauce+noodles=strange but mmmm!); usually I whack some jerk chicken, peppers and pineapple in there and mix it up. Possibly some citrus fruit juice with it for a bit of volume. :)

Maruchan or Cup-O-Noodles, generally.

Maruchan has this "spicy" flavor I think. Not really spicy, and not spiced properly, but whatever they do, it's pretty decent. Makes for a nice filling meal in minutes!

Ramen! Ahh, such fond memories of college. I had many a night when I'd decide I was starving at three in the morning, and ramen was the only thing I felt like making. That, or easy mac. :p Don't have it very often anymore though. When I did, it was either Nissin Top Ramen, or Asian stuff I used to get a market in Cupertino. Always used the seasonings, but sometimes I'd add things to it (chili oil or vegetables or the like). The amount of broth depends on my mood, but usually I make it with quite a bit. Hmm, I may have to go make some now. If I overcooked the noodles, it's probably one of the few foods I could manage to eat at the moment, since I recently had my wisdom teeth taken out. I'll never look at jello the same way again.

:)
1. Yes
2. Once or twice a week
3.Nissin "Top Ramen"
4a. Yes
4b. Yes
5. Yes for me, no for my wife.
6. Only when I am drunk.
7. Any flavor really.
8. Simple, make the Ramen use the flavor package then to the finished product add at least one table spoon white vinegar, and some soy sauce.
That is my favorite preparation and it works with all of them.

Let us discuss Ramen!

Looks like most of you poor unfortunate sods are discussing instant ramen. Too bad! But if any of you guys come to Osaka, I'll take you to a real ramen shop like Kin-Ryu (one of the most famous in Japan). If you're nice I'll take you to one of the smaller shops I know that's much better...

Do you make it?

I've been know to prepare instant ramen, but haven't actually made it yet. :p One of these day, however, I do plan to take the Momofuku And Instant Ramen Museum's 1 day workshop, in which you actually make your own pacakage of instant noodles - completely from scratch.

How often?

Instant - usually around once a month - do you know how bad that stuff is for you?

Real - about once a week.

What brand?

Instant - Chiken Ramen

Real - My usual is a little nameless shop in my neighborhood. My favorite is a toss up between two nameless shops - 1 in Kyushu and 1 in Niigata.

Do you use the pre-packaged flavorings, or do you make your own?

I add my own to instant - usually cheese and hot sauce. For the real stuff, it's rather difficult not to use the shops...

Lots of broth, or not?

The usual.

Do I make you horny?

Err.....

What flavor is your favorite?

Tonkotsu

Any recipes?

Those are closely gaurded secrets. Watch Juzo Itami's movie Tampopo (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092048/) and you'll understand.

I can't eat it anymore :( but when I was a minimum wage worker supporting 4 people, I would get it at 10 for $1 and eat it at just about every meal ( I skipped a lot of meals)

My favorite combos

Chicken ramen and vienna sausages

Beef ramen and the little can of peas and carrots

Pork ramen and beanie weenies

Beef ramen plain

I would drain all the water off and use the powder on the nearly dry noodles. I hated watery ramen, yuck.

also there were times when the water was turned off so I would eat it uncooked and sprinkle the powder on as I went.

yeah, it sucks to be poor.

Ok.

Do you make it?
Yes, but the last time I got yelled at by my wife and am now under order to not cook till I get proper instruction from her on how to cook it right. Southern Japanese are very picky about their Ramen.

How often?
I eat it quite a bit, but from shops in the area (If you're up in Northern Japan I'll take you to this small hole in the wall with the best pork ramen on the planet).

What brand?
No bloody idea, I went for the boxes that I could figure out the instructions on.

Do you use the pre-packaged flavorings, or do you make your own?
A bit of both.

Lots of broth, or not?
Not.

Do I make you horny?
Sorry, I just got married last week so I am no longer allowed to answer that. ;)

Pork by far.

Any recipes?

Daistallia, I think I've been there, to the famous Ramen place in Osaka. My father's best friend travels the world looking for the perfect bowl of Ramen, and he's taken us to Osaka to eat some "famous" ramen, as well as many other places in Japan. He clames his favorite is from his hometown, somewhere in Kyushu. Sadly, I do not remember the time I went to Osaka well, for I was young and jetlagged, but I do believe I've been to Kin-Ryu.

My great uncle is one of the executives at an instant ramen factory in Japan, so as a kid, I had a ton of instant ramen. It's ok, but not great.

for the dried type, (not the cup noodles) boil the noodles but don't add the stock.

drain the noodles from the water and add some oil (about a tablespoon) and Shoyu (soy Sauce) some garnishes and mix the noodles till it's all coated.

sprinkle some, not all, perhaps a 1/4 of the package, of the soup stock and mix.

serve.
