I've seen people post a source when asked and be told that the source is not a credible/believable one. So I figured if we could agree on at least a few sources of credible data then the arguments would go smoother and might not get sidetracked as much. I wasn't planning to add a poll; just post those news sources that you believe and that are accessible to others. If you'd rather not thats ok too.

A credible source is one that supports my current argument... Seriously though, that seems to be the definition most people here use.

I read that when it came out. I too would cite it here. It seems it is reasonably accurate and is accesible to all who can access the internet.

I find Ruffy, LG, Tribes and Kanabia credible sources. And the Guardian sometimes. That's about it.

Wiki BBC news and the times are my usual sorces though if i can find a group devoted to research relating to the discussion that isn't too obviously biased I may bring that in.

I usually use Wiki to find a more in depth article, but it has always seemed reasonably accurate to me.

The Beeb, obviously.
The Guardian.
The BGS, but I've never cited it here (can't think why...).

Non-first hand sources only have the credibility that your readers give them.

On another note, Wikipedia. Not reliable for any event that can not be proven with utter, scientific certainty.
Circumference of the earth? No problem.
An article on the 2nd Gulf War? Highly dubious.

BBC, USA Today, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews, YahooNews, Academic Journals and Wikipedia are all acceptable websites for information sourcing and use on the forums here.
