First Mary appears in some toast, then she's in some wood, now she comes in the form of chocolate. And it barely even looks like her if you ask me.

For anyone whom the link doesn't work.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - As a chocolatier to the rich and famous, Martucci Angiano has posed with many celebrities — but on Thursday she held in her hand a figure that dazzles her more than any Hollywood star.

Workers at Angiano's gourmet chocolate company, Bodega Chocolates, discovered under a vat a 2-inch-tall column of chocolate drippings that they believe bears a striking resemblance to the Virgin Mary.

Since the discovery Monday, Angiano's employees have spent much of their time hovering over the tiny figure, praying and placing rose petals and candles around it.

"I was raised to believe in the Virgin Mary, but this still gives me the chills," Angiano said as she balanced the dark brown figure in her hand. "Everyone should see this."

Kitchen worker Cruz Jacinto was the first to spot the lump of melted chocolate when she began her shift Monday cleaning up drippings that had accumulated under a large vat of dark chocolate.

Chocolate drippings usually harden in thin, flat strips on wax paper, but Jacinto said she froze when she noticed the unusual shape of this cast-off: It looked just like the Virgin Mary on the prayer card she always carries in her right pocket.

"When I come in, the first thing I do is look at the clock, but this time I didn't look at the clock. My eyes went directly to the chocolate," said Jacinto, dressed in a hair net and apron as she paused from her work. "I thought, 'Am I the only one who can see this? I picked it up and I felt emotion just come over me. For me, it was a sign."

The chocolate, on display for most of the week in the front of the company gift shop, now rests in a plastic case in a back room and is brought out only for curious visitors.

The stack of hardened confection has a wide base and tapers gently toward a rounded top, giving the appearance of a female figure with her head tilted slightly to the right. The dark brown melting chocolate hardened into subtle layers that resemble the folds of a gown and a flowing veil.

A tiny white circle, about the size of a pencil eraser, sits in the upper center of the creation, just above a slight ridge that runs across it. Cruz says the white speck is the head of the Baby Jesus as he is held in Mary's folded arms.

For Jacinto, the discovery came just in time. Raising a son on her own, she has struggled with marital problems for months and says she was about to lose her faith.

"I have big problems right now, personally, and lately I've been saying that God doesn't exist," she said, pulling the dog-eared prayer card out of her pocket. "This has given me renewed faith."

Angiano, who co-owns the 10-year-old company with her sister, has rubbed shoulders with plenty of stars in her job.

How do you know how Mary looked ? As far as I am aware there exist no pictures made by people that actually knew her.

Which of course also takes away some significance of statements like "she looked just like her image on the prayercard !" - since noone can know if the woman depicted on the card actually resembles Mary at all. For all we know she was modeled after a whore.

I'm curious. Did the mary stay a virgin all her life? Or did joseph get some after jesus was born?

If she didn't, we probably shouldn't call her the virgin mary.

But if she did, isn't that a sin because marriage is a sacrement to catholics and she was neglecting her wifely duties?

Depends on which "faith" you ask. According to the Catechisim of the Catholic Church, Mary remained a virgin her entire life. You'll have to look it up for yourself to see how she got around the "spousal duty" aspect.

Other "faiths" however simply state that Mary was not a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus - but that Jesus was just not conceived in the normal way.

For example, there's the whole: "the word that we all translate as virgin in the bible actually means young woman" thing.

Actually I'll just assume that the catholic church has been caught in another lie if its all same ta very much.

Thats one thing I keep wondering about, I mean, realisticly, a married couple and for some reason they never have sex? Seems more then a bit unlikely to me. Especialy given the time period people would try to have multiple children to help work on the farm or whatever they had.

I was basing that off of the picture they had in the link, sure I never actualy met her. But I'm basing what I'm saying off of the picture they have since thats the image they think the chocolate resembles, prick.

Speaking of bullshiting for cash, a while back a tv show made a fake video of bigfoot. The guy just got the camera guy to record it and had some janitor put on an monkey outfit and stomp around. They put in on the internet and were contacted with an offer of several thousand bucks to go on national tv with it. Of course they turned it down since they'd have to admit it was fake, but they came this close to that kind of cash with total bullshit video... Hell, you could probably just get you friend to dress up in a white hood and blue bath robe and walk around. Say it's the "virgin Mary come back to life" and make some cash off that.

That was my first thought, that someone was going to get a nice pile of cash. I wonder if someone ate the "virgin Mary" if they'd go to hell. Must be some kind of sin right? That something so "holy" tastes so good?
