Im going into sixth form in september, and General Studies is a compulsory subject.

What i want to know is:

1) what do you have to do
2) ist it really a pointless waste of time you can pass without going to lessons
3) if number 2 is correct, can i skive this lesson

thanks for the info :)

My freind completed an exam in general studies earlier. Apparently it's really stupid.

The sort of questions you get:

"name a type of sport that a pregnant, obese and disabled person can do"

1) Not much. The exam is normally on various current issues that you are meant to have formed an opinion on.
2) Yes.
3) Yes. But read a newspaper (not a tabloid) and watch the news regularly so you're informed about current affairs. Or just actively participate in this forum.

From what I gather from my friends General Studies is:

Basically talking about the news.
Debating
And writing a ton of essays

Hope that helps

Well...yes. I took a General Studies exam before NS General was invented, so I'd've been very slightly screwed if it had been about NSG.

General Studies is almost impossible to fail and not very many universities really give a fuck about it. I never did it (4 proper A levels ftw ¬_¬) but one of my friends got an A without attending a single lesson. Then again, he may have been a minor genius.

Fortunately, mine did, or I wouldn't have got in. Then they very kindly gave me a 2:1 despite me meeting none of the criteria for actually deserving it.

Too easy, they'd just fall off. Actually, ski jump is fairly easy for an obese, pregnant, disabled person, as they'd generate a hell of a lot of momentum going down that slope.

Yep, 2's basically correct, though you mey want to ask your friends who actually attend about answer technique. I got a C in it, but ABB otherwise, and i oinly needed BCC, so there we go.
