Yes, I play golf, along with my brother, and brother-in-laws. I know it's a boring game to watch, however, it's actually a very fun and hard game to play. You gotta figure out which club to use, where the wind is blowing, which stance to use etc. I have a full set of golf clubs with lotsa golf balls and tees. I do need to replace my golf glove soon though. Anyone else in here enjoy the game of golf?

Golf is far more fun than people give it credit for. Especially when drunk.

Golf can be fun if you are with the right group. If you are with the wrong group.......well, there is an urge to start going crazy and hitting people with your driver.

Big head, eh? Can you drive straight into the hole? Or does it take a little wedge work in the rough?

the only time I played golf... I hit a 96 with no handicap.... on a 18 hole golf course.

of course, if I was joking, I'ld end it with a "and I hope to go back and do the second hole."

1) there is a reason why those things are called "Clubs"

2) Golf is Flog spelled backwards

3) the only reason why it's called Golf is because all the other four letter words were taken.

4) One should not play Good Golf and feel bad, but play bad golf and feel good

5) remember the rule... always play the lie.

:D

Golf is an incredibly fun game that requires physical fitness, technique and a certain degree of intelligence. Very entertaining to watch and play.

The only thing wrong with it is the clubs. Not the instruments of this fine game. No I mean the institutions that reside over every course. I find that most clubs are filled with mindlessly arrogant men who are extremely petty.

Superb. You must have a great stroke. A good long swinging motion? Not too tight a grip? A slow wind up and controlled release?

I enjoy it, but I'm definitely not good at it. I consider a 7 on a par 4 to be a pretty decent hole...

There's eighteen holes in a game of golf. There's eighteen shots in a proper bottle of scotch.

Coincidence? I think not.

I've got a nasty right hook, when I tee off with my drivers. It's got everyone mystified. I feel like I can point 90 degrees to the left, and I'll manage to get the ball somewhere to the right of the fairway.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Even worse, the courses always put the teeboxes on the right side of the hole so I'm pretty much guaranteed to hit it in to the woods or at least the rough on any given hole.

Try addressing the ball with it closer to your left foot.

Make sure you place your club behind the ball before addressing it, too, so that you get yourself lined up nicely. Keep your left arm straight and make a straight line from your shoulder down to the club head. Keep the swing slower, steady, and rythmic, with your complete focus on the ball.

That should work. The most important thing there is the position of the ball relevant to your feet....too far to your right and the ball will hook right. Too far to your left and the ball will hook left. Maybe it's the other way round. But you get the idea...I used to get exactly the same problem, then I followed the advice above and now I shoot pretty much straight.

I used to play, then gave up because of a lack of money and time when I went to uni. Might take it up again when I have the time and money to do so. My handicap was down to about 21 when I gave up. Had a wicked hook with my irons though. Could have been down to about 15 if I'd got that under control.

I play golf quite reguarly- cant help it being summer holidays and the golf course being on the other side of the village!- and considering i only started a year ago im getting alot better. I hit my irons pretty straight and long. But never feel confident with any of my woods. I keep topping them =(

Tee the ball up higher then.

Yea, I put the ball at my front feet, do the normal stance. I put the face right up at the ball when lining up. I slowly pull back making sure my stance stays straight, and then I just let it go.

So, which shaft is better, metal or graphite? I prefer graphite myself.

That would make croqueting more fun.

Dad took me out a few times and said i was doing it wrong.
So i stopped playing.
Refuse to play ever again!
