See how well you do. Can you tell fact from fiction?
You got 4 out of 8 correct. Not bad but you need to be a bit more discerning with your media watching. Don't be so easily fooled by what you see in your newspaper or on your television screen – read HonestReporting's communiques and learn to spot media bias or inaccuracy when it happens

Well that was a balanced and impartial test.

It was 100% accurate though. Every one of those pictures was either intentionally doctored by the media or was given a false sensationalist caption. (See Yellow Journalism)

I got them all right, not only because I’ve heard all this shit before, but because I knew you couldn’t possibly post anything even remotely impartial, ever.
7 of 8. Pretty good.
I only thought one of the flares was added after the fact.
This isn't news. The media do this all the time, because their primary interest is in attracting consumers.

I know. But the quiz does rather leave you with the impression that the entire Israeli invasion was just made up, and a golden halo sits over the nation that can do no wrong.
I'm not an anti-Israeli by any stretch of the imagination, but such blatant propoganda doesn't do anyone any good.

Ironically, the test seems to imply that it is only the Isrealis that are the victims of propaganda. Not the whole picture.
Ironically, the test seems to imply that it is only the Isrealis that are the victims of propaganda. Not the whole picture.
But since the point of the test is that you shouldn't draw inferences, any such implication is irrelevant.
And that even assumes there is such a thing as implication.

The only propoganda here is the propoganda put forward by the mainstream media.

You send us to a site that's beyond biased (and quite ironically named) and then ask us if we can tell fact from fiction?

Please show me any pictures from the war that were doctored to be pro-Israeli.

Well it seems like you bought the pics Reuters had on their site so it seems like you yourself fed into this bias.

And you base that on what? Look at my posts on the subject--I said Reuters did the right thing from the beginning by yanking all photos, even the ones where there was no doctoring accusation, and by firing the photographer.

Oh my god. I can see now, there was never a war.
Bloody hell, how could so many people have been so misled?
Really makes you think, what else never happened?

The Holocaust, perhaps?

I think they should have publicised what happened, and even presented all the pictures with explanations of the sorts of trickery being used.

are you saying that Israel didn't bomb Lebanon?
Do you disagree with the estimate that 11,000 homes and businesses were destroyed?
The Holocaust, perhaps?
The potato famine.

Excellent! You got 8 out of 8 correct. The media cannot pull the wool over your eyes. You are an expert sleuth and capable of spotting an error and holding the media to account. Keep reading HonestReporting's communiques and take action whenever you see media bias.
I got a 100% right.
Why? Because I can identify bias when I see it, and therefore I just answered all questions like IDF would have.

You got 0 out of 8 correct. Do you believe everything you see in the media? Time to take a second look at your newspaper or television screen and read HonestReporting's communiques for information about the real story behind the news.
Huh. I was just wondering what it would say...
Oooh, good one. I'd return the favor, but I don't know your nationality...

Trail of Tears.
(That kinda hurts me, too, though. I live in the US, and I'm 1/16 Cherokee... dammit, let me think...)
Ooh: Pearl Harbor.

Ooh: Pearl Harbor.um... it did happen. my parents, aunts and uncles lived through that.
8 out of 8. I knew about the photos because I read left wing newspapers which were all over them (surprise, they don't like hezbollah much) and I sorta got the point after the first question.

Yea. Kinda proud of that in a sick way tho'. Made us the 'good guys'. As bismarck said "god favors fools, drunks, and the united states of america."
It's hard to make fun of us (US) this way.
That said, people get pretty pissy about vietnam. (I know it's not on point, but I'm just throwing it out there).
