Fighter jets escorted a diverted London-to-Washington, D.C., flight to Boston's Logan airport Wednesday after a distraught passenger pulled out a screw driver, matches, Vaseline and a note referencing al-Qaida, an airport spokesman said.

United Flight 923 landed safely, Logan airport spokesman Phil Orlandella said.

That is what was reported but then, when news first breaks, you report with what is given at the moment. Turned out she had none of those things. Therefor, all we have here is a claustraphobic passenger.

My goodness. It's almost like we can't expect to get a reliable picture of the world from our corporate media. This is disheartening.
