Disturbance Diverts London-D.C. Flight
BOSTON (AP) -- Fighter jets escorted a diverted London-to-Washington, D.C., flight to Boston's Logan airport Wednesday after a distraught passenger pulled out a screw driver, matches, Vaseline and a note referencing al-Qaida, an airport spokesman said.
Probably just a kook, but it's not the way to get another oak leaf cluster on your longevity ribbon.
Looks like the reaction was pretty swift as well. Diverting the flight and sending fighter jets.
Makes you wonder how the screwdriver, matches, and Vaseline got past - I remember security at Heathrow being pretty stringent this spring.
