I found this pretty cool … its not accusing of one side or the other on the current situation but sense it has been the topic of debate recently I thought it would be intresting to post

It is a look at photo manipulation (everything from political ad manipulation to magazine photo manipulations) they do a good job of showing comparisons and such

It's called a pre-emptive comment. I'm sure someone will be along in a few minutes to say that because it's been done before, it's OK for Adnan to do it.

Ah thought I said something … I was just hoping not cause when the OP says something inadvertently contentious (rather then purposefully) then threads go in weird directions that are not really intended lol

I find it interesting that of the 19 pictures posted at that link, only 3 deal with US political figures, 2 were linked to either Republicans or the Bush campaign in 2004, and that one of them, picture 14, isn't actually a lie, but seems to have been added in for no particular reason. All that was done to that picture was that it was overexposed so the writing would stand out more--nothing in the photo itself was photoshopped in or deleted or changed. It's certainly not the equivalent of replicating soldiers or putting Kerry and Fonda together in a photo.

In a related link to that story was another story about software to detect altered photographs. Apparantly Reuters uses this software. This cant help sales.

While some of the group's software is now used by the FBI and large media organizations such as Reuters, a version written in Java will come out soon that will be easier to use and thereby allow more police and media organizations to sniff out fraud. The current software is written in Matlab, a numerical computing environment.

On another thread I believe I stated that DK was incapable of thought. It looks like I could be incorrect.

But like the good socialist you (East Canuck) are you just had to put your oar in where really it is not needed.
