The Hungarians had it coming...
Two important facts:
1) The Hungarian city of Budapest is building a cool-looking suspension bridge over the river Danube... and are letting the people name it. Big mistake.
2) This bridge was mentioned by Stephen Colbert on his show.
You know what to do. Head on over to this site (http://www.m0hid.gov.hu/vote), use your browser's "Find" tool to find the name "Stephen Colbert", check off the name, and click the "Elkud" button at the bottom. Sure, there are hundreds of others to choose from, but who better to name it after than a high-profile satirist/comedian?
And remember: if you don't vote Colbert, rabid bears will haunt your dreams, and you will forever be remembered as a traitor to the people of America, Hungary, and the world.
Plus, you'll be put on notice.
It's your patriotic duty! Get to it!
(DISCLAIMER: This isn't just for Americans. This is an issue of transnational importance. The Colbert Nation knows no boundaries. Plus, it'll be really funny.)

Does anybody else add "I AM NOT STEPHAN COLBERT" to the end of their google searches?
Of course not. That's ridiculous.
I add "I AM NOT <insert my name here>".
Plus a few random searches to throw 'em off the scent.

You are right Rhaomi, this is a cause of great importance, for our respective nations and for mankind itself. Can we allow ourselves to live in a world where we are too afraid to go to some random foreign site and vote for some dude because he told us on the TV? NO!!! We name this bridge after Stephen Colbert for ourselves, for our children, and for our childrens children to show them that we live in a world where the little guy can stand up to Goliath and win.
As of right now, Colbert is the underdog. Can we allow this great man to live unhonored by the people of Poland? I say NO! We must vote to make this world a better place and to show the world that democracy works. I ask you to ask yourselves: can I live in a world where I am afraid to vote for Stephen Colbert on some random foreign site? Can I look myself in the mirror, knowing that I have failed to promote freedom and its champions? Can my conscience rest knowing that I could have done so much more for the world? If the answer to those questions is yes then don't vote, you are clearly a loser. However, if you have a spine and a soul then you will recognize that you must vote Colbert, to do otherwise would be to betray freedom and to show yourself as a coward.
I ask you, I plead with you, I implore you to vote Colbert. Help us turn this underdog into the overdog, help us secure this world for freedom, help us create a better world. It must be done, and we need all of the help we can get from any brave soul willing to put walk the talk and show the world that they can make a difference.
It would be funnier if we voted for Stalin or Hitler or something.

If by have sense, you mean have no sense then you are correct. The people voting obviously have a dearth of sense. That is why we must correct their grievous error and make sure that Stephen Colbert wins that bridge so that he can further spread freedom and truthiness.

Anybody see the Colbert Report on Aug 16? That is some progress he is making on getting that bridge named after him. Some 400,000 votes in one day. And people on the forums are finding cracks to allow them multiple votes and automating the process.
Could this bridge actually end up being named after Stephen Colbert?

Some of the other proposed names are funny:

Perl-Script

When will leaders learn to not ask people to name things, specially through the internet?

Aside from Colbert's fans turning into feckless web vandals, there's also the ages old maxim.
If you expect the general public to make an important decision for you, then you deserve what you get.
Hungary has no national pride here. Could have been worse though. Some smartasses might have ended up naming it the Bela Lugosi Bridge. Native yet still... tacky.

Stephen Who now?
'Under the' Bridge is hell as funny.
Stephen Colbert. He has a political comedy show here in America. He pretends to be an über-conservative, and hilarity ensues. His show and The Daily Show (a comedy news progam) are the two most-watched shows in the 18-24 age group, if I remember correctly. It's also worth noting that people who watch The Daily Show (The Colbert Report is a spin-off) are more knowledgeable about current events than people who do not. I think they rebroadcast The Daily Show worldwide. It's on CNN International.
