Hey I'm in desperate need of a saturday/holiday job this summer and since I'm 14 I'm kinda having trouble thinking of anything i can do.

I live in the UK so obviously their laws apply. And there is no paper round going in the village.

Any ideas?

car washing??????? I did it when I was your age. You have to blag it with people though or drop a few leaflets about locally. Admittedly I only washed a few cars before being bored :rolleyes:

Good idea! A friend of mine is 15 and makes websites for companies and stuff. He's earned pretty much with 5 weeks of building...He wouldn't say how much though :p

You could try out for senior senator from alaska. I hear that the qualifications required aren't all that high.

Start your own lil' business setting up, cleaning, and maintaining aquariums and/or ponds! Full service lawn care/maintenance (cut, edge, weed, sweep, trash/leaves, etc...) Those are the first that came to mind!

me too, actually that could work, just trie to sell it as a magical medicine, it cures allmost all problems, but has some strange side-effects.

or maybe (i don't know if Brittain allow chirldren of 14 to work for a real wage with a contract etc.) you could work in some kind of gardening business. where they grow vegetables or other plants under glass. it doesn't make good money and is very unpleasant (especialy when its really hot) but they need a lot of people, and obviously you don't have a lot of choice.

Check your local Yellow Pages for advertisement firms that do leaflets.
Or ask at local takeway/delivery places.

There should be no legal restrictions other than hours per day. If you can do paper rounds, you can do leaflets.

Walking people's dogs is another idea.

Sell weed.

Though, I suggest working out before that. If you're 14, a lot of people will want to beat you up for your weed, especially if they think its not good.


Do it right though, and you can be rolling in the green... take that as you will.

Just do what I do. Illegaly work in the back of a 4 star restaurant, cleaning everything up. (That'll teach you, child labor laws.:upyours:)
Well anyway, you get free food. And by that I mean scraps. And you get to kill the insects:gundge:(with acid!) when the health inspector comes. When he does come you get to hide in the closet. And best of all you don't pay taxes, because according to the paper work you don't work.
It's amazing what a little hard work and not filling out paperwork can do.

I have no idea about the laws there, but around here I pay kids your age to weed my garden, clean up the dog poop out of my back yard, play outside with my kids while I clean house, and mow my lawn.

If not it may have to be gardening, although alot of the pensioners have immaculate gardens by their own doing. So I'm not too convinced there would be much work going.

There's a booming market for pet skunks. Go out at night and catch some. Then sell em to the appropriate dealers.
